Ferrari is the team to beat - No Lie :P

No chance, Williams are now back on top of Ferrari, if the Ferraris do happen to be out of front expect them to be gobbled up by the Brawns, Toyotas, possibly the BMW's and Nico's Williams. Maybe Nakajima too as long as he doesn't try using the Ferraris as target practice. :hehe:

Ah, the fine art of kamikaze. I have to say, he has a long way to go before he gets as good as Yuji Ide. That guy was a master.

Toyota will have a far better weekend, I'd expect.

Pretty hard for them not to! :P

I think they're closest to Brawn at the moment....

That's me, always understating. :thumbup::rofl:
I agree though, I'd say they are the closest to Brawn.
What I could see happen is Trulli blitzing a qually lap and splitting the Brawn's on the grid, maybe even taking pole. Anyone else think that?
I'm glad the team has finally seemingly came good. Hopefully they can claim a win this year.

If anyone can split the Brawns it'll be Trulli or Webber... the Brawn fuel loads after Q3 in Melbourne were very ominous though. The more people slate Toyota the more i find myself rooting for them, i love underdogs! :P

Possibly what i thinks going to happen is we'll see the big 2 Mclaren and Ferrari improve to become front runners and Brawn will go 3rd toyota will slip to 4th so they had better win and win quick but i think that brawn will have the mesure of them.

Unless they keep developing to not sure brawn has the money to develop we'll see tho.

Mclaren say they will win in spain and i belive them.

I have reason to believe Ron may have been right about McLaren having made some progress by Spain. Because McLaren have been working on a new diffuser whilst other teams have bitched about it, they could sneak ahead of Ferrari and co. That is assuming that McLaren are going to run a diffuser and have it working by Spain. I really doubt they'll be ready to win though, Nico Rosberg has commented that even if the other teams build diffusers, Williams will have developed the FW31 so much it'll still be hard to catch as the FW31 has very good development potential.

Virgin backed... potentially lots of money hanging around the Brawn team! No offence but i think you're confusing what you really want to happen with what happens in reality. :P I can't see anyone, even McLaren or Ferrari making up what is really around second a lap+ within the next month or so.

We'll see come spain, and i admit its wishfull thinking on Mclarens part.

However if brawn have money now - why are they making staff redundant - thats why i think they won't be able to develope as fast

Nico could split the Brawns on a good day.

Superfluous, I guess. The test team, in particular, will be out of the window. Clearly Brawn thinks that the extra level of staff are unnecessary, who knows?

Anyone know if BRAWN GP are going to run KERS at all this season? I reckon in the latter half of the season they will fall behind a little if they don't (this assuming that the weight of non-KERS cars becomes less of an advantage/the KERs teams develop their systems).

There are other reasons than directly financial ones as well. Some new regs make some staff redundant, e.g., the testing ban during the season. Even though survival of the Brawn outfit seems more or less secured now that sponsors flock to them with the latest success in racing, the financial backing will still be much less than it used to be under deep-pocketed Honda ownership. It is precisely because Brawn wants to be able to develop the car and keep it competitive that they need to shed some staff and save money that way so that there's more dough to be spent on development.
