Exactly, the season Nigel undermined his greatness. If luck had transpired differently, Alain Prost would only be a 3 time champ, and Piquet a double.
Mansell 3 time.

BUT it's in the past, we all know he was a class act. Indy Car underlined that.

Back OT, i guess it all depends on what criteria you set for 'greatness'.

Indeed, i'll slightly stray off topic, but Schumacher and/or Ferrari are greats, they will go down in history.
But just because they are the greatest numerically, doesn't mean they are the greatest.

There isn't a greatest team in Formula One in my view.

Yes, Prost wasn't just "the Professor" he was "the Politician" too. Still at least Damon showed what he could do against Prost until the team-orders were dished out like this;



Anyway, back on topic, I would have to say Lotus are the greatest Formula One team of all time... and also the most sadly missed.

Anyway, back on topic, I would have to say Lotus are the greatest Formula One team of all time... and also the most sadly missed.

Lotus were up there certainly, but I feel their demise would have happened even if Chapman had still lived to be frank.
Williams seem to be experiencing, what i've coined, "Lotus Syndrome". They are of Tyrrell level imo, building great cars, but just lacking a resources

Nope I really meant it. I need to learn to stop hating and F1 is a perfect place to start amongst all other things in my life. This is not to say that I would be happy to see McLaren win or Lewis Hamilton win, but in due respect, McLaren has earned its greatness in F1. Even in race wins and championships etc. Being second only to Ferrari still equates to greatness and on top of that McLaren has come out in the past with innovative ideas that have pushed F1 forward. Overall Ferrari would be second to McLaren in this area if McLaren and Ferrari are the only 2 teams in question. So Viva La McLaren and Viva La Ferrari. May Ferrari win races but if it cannot be, then may the best team at the moment/time win. If that just happens to be McLaren, then be it.
