I think McLaren_Fan and to some extent myself would think of Toyota more highly if Trulli wasn't there. Trulli is the modern day Philippe Alliot, occasionally blindingly fast - especially in qualifying - but on most racedays a mobile chicane, except Trulli whinges more and Alliot blocked and crashed more.

Trulli is more like a brick wall i think you'll find, seeing as people rarely seem to actually get past him on track despite supposedly being a lot quicker in race trim. Casing point being Hamilton at Monza, who sailed past most but suddenly found it a lot more tough getting past Trulli, despite the huge speed differential! As for qualifying, 'occasionally' fast? He was consistently in the top 10 at least last season in a pretty dogshite Toyota... As for the complaining, yeah that sucks sometimes, although i think he's entitled to be annoyed when some goon like Bourdais takes him out when in a strong position (first corner at Belgium).

Well I meant 'occasionally' fast as in the race when everything in the car's working well (particularly at races when it was very hot), but I also meant 'especially in qualifying' as in that's when he's fastest. :)

Ah right, that makes sense then!

No team is immune to making such mistakes. Even Renault got that one wrong.

I presume you are referring back to Honda. Like I said earlier, it's impossible to win all of the time, but I think Renault's situation does not compare to Honda's, nor Toyota's for that matter. For a start, Renault have basically half the funds of Honda and Toyota. Second, they were caught out the tyre situation etc. This kind of thing can happen and must be looked at differently from something as amateur as not even being able to calibrate a wind tunnel property and then not to notice it for months on end. Toyota and Honda have bumbled their way through Formula One for too long; my patience has now become exhausted.

Well, apparently the Toyota had troubles working in cold conditions. Similar to the Ferrari. So if you look back, it usually was both Glock and Truili struggling in cold conditions.

As for Truili being a brick wall to pass. Truili Train Anyone
There was a rumour the Toyota was the hardest car to pass because it was quite different to a lot of the other cars. But I'm pretty sure Truili is experienced hand at defending his positions as well.

Me personally, I've always quite liked Truili. He's pulled some absoulty stunning stuff in Quali, and i'm no doubt if you gave him a top car, he'd out preform the large majority drivers at the top over a single lap. 2nd in Brazil was quite a highlight. He was also superb in France, getting 3rd place.

I'm pretty sure that Renault also admitted to wind tunnel issues that led to their poor performances in 2007 and early 2008.

Renault WILL bounce back... Ihope.

If it weren't for all the rule changes, it'd be basically a given that the team would only move forward with Alonso on board...

I hope so too dude. It would be awesome if we had like Ferrari, McLaren, Renault, BMW, and hopefully Williams fighting for the title, or any other teams for the matter. I hope this season isnt just Ferrari vs. McLaren.

I think the Toyota looks alright better than the BMW anyway but the Ferrari still looks better I think.

Toyota have done a good job with regards to design, hopefully it'll also do the job and get them up to the front of the grid on a consistent basis. I think a lot of people thought the 2009 spec cars would a bit ugly be due to the narrower rear wings etc, if anything I reckon they're the best looking cars for about 9-10 years and on slicks too !
