My Vauxhall Corsa would probably go faster too.

So what ludicrous ideas could Max come up with next? Cars having to use a Milk Float engine? Drivers having to wear g-strings? Bicycle pedals in the cockpit?

I can't say for sure, but I think the name is meant to be symmetrical.

Upholster cockpit in leather, you know how partial Max is to leather.

At least this time you can see where Mosley's head is at. A standardised engine, developed by one supplier, not necessarily a manufacturer, would be the only way to keep costs down for all teams. I'd agree that the manufacturers won't go for it, and that will prevent it. But it would, finally, keep costs down. Given the economic situation, it could be that current costs are unsustainable and will wreck F1 as the manufacturers pull out en mass.

But imagine the conspiracy theories when engines blow more for one team than they do for others. Which could be installation issues, or just random sampling.

In an ideal world, yes that's not what Formula one is about. But our world is rapidly becoming less than ideal. And when the manufacturers took over F1, a point made by many people is that manufacturers tend to arrive and leave series together. If Honda, Mercedes, Toyota, Renault all dropped out of F1, where would F1 be?

Not that I agree with a spec engine, but the suggestion cannot be glibly passed off with a comment that this is not what F1 is all about. Better a bastardised F1, than no F1 at all.

infact i think it can be glibly passed off with that comment! F1 is constructor vs constructor! the pinnacle of motorsport is not a spec series!

do you think Honda Toyota BMW want to build chassis only to have another automobile make power the thing? they would ALL pull out only teams such as WIlliams Redbull Force India, and to some extent McLaren(majority share holder is Daimler) could get away with a spec engine!
