You should have heard the spiteful stuff coulthard spouted when Juan pablo took his drive. He acts lke Mr. Upright goody two shoes whilst putting in the knife.

Coulthard is a clown. He will say just about anything to explain his underperformance at McLaren. I only saw the bit about the 1998 Australian Grand Prix before having to leave the room for a second, but I was surprised he even mentioned the pre-race agreement and didn't give us a violin story. Is the video online at all so I can watch it?

Well you'll have to put up with him again next year if he gets the TV job.[/quote]

Really hope he doesnt cos he bears grudges! Dont know if video is on youtube but he was interviewed again later and asked about Ron/McLaren. He said that whilst he knew he had equal equipment , Mikka was Ron's favorite NOT FAIR etc etc blah blah :dummyspit:

Piquet is hands down the worst driver. He lacks motivation, speed, and consistency. His DNF's are either mechanical failures, but in most cases driver error. He has the talent, but his lack of motivation is what is keeping him from doing well.

He also lacks experience, which is probably playing a huge part in his lack of results, too. That being said, he kept his fuel-laden car on the track all day today whilst some people had near-misses with the walls, or spins. Seeing as this is only his second fully-wet Formula 1 race, I'd say he did pretty well. Another year in a decent car should see his results improve as he gets more and more experienced.

Do you think Renault will keep him?

I would hope that Renault keep him, especially when you consider that the GP2 guys don't seem like they'd be an improvement over Piquet at the moment - they all need more time, in my opinion.

Indeed. It would be harsh if they did, though, in the same way it would be harsh if anybody else in the field was dropped by their team. Nobody has done badly enough to warrant that, save for maybe DC.

I thought it was excessively harsh when they dropped Kovalainen and Fisichella last year.

Yeah that was, so it makes you think twice about what they will do to Piquet. I just hope that Toro Rosso doesnt drop Bourdais because I honestly think its not too late for him to make an impression in F1, especially with next years cars I think he will do great.

If Bourdais gets dropped that would be one of the greatest injustices in F1 ever.

Absolutely. He may not be the quickest guy on earth but he's no fool and his wide experience would be an asset to almost any team. Torro Rosso should march him into the office and sign him up tomorrow - he drove fantastically well today even if everyone was watching his team-mate a lap up the road.

Given his improvement in form in the last few races, then that's definitely true. It was always going to take a while to come to terms with the differences in how a Champ Car and a Formula One car handle. With less aerodynamic trash on the cars next season and slick tyres making their return, Bourdais could get even better.

Add Kovalainen to the top of the list please. You can argue about the bad lucks and blah blah blah, but that's racing and at the end of the day you race what is giving to you. Being what is considered THE BEST car on the grid and you are 5th in the Championship and 27 points behind your teammate, at least other drivers have a reason to be bad, either they are rookies are driving bad cars to begin with. Monza just showed how bad he is, your teammate is slicing and diving in and out from 15th to 2nd and all day long you still behind Vettel  . Having a bad machine and doing bad is expected, having a superior machine and you are average is THE WORST DRIVER IN F1.
