Only unfit people get injured??? Thats laughable! so you saying premiership footballers arent fit???
If Button , or anyone had been in a McLaren today they could not have done what lewis did.. Button spun off.
Whats Senna got to do with it????

Didn't J-PM injure himself indulging in extra-curricular sport?

yeah playing tennis *cough* MX biking

is signing multimillion dollar deals and filming/photoshooting adverts focusing?...

how many drivers have done adverts? quit with singling lewis out for this all drivers do FFS :bs:

well what harm is a tri-athelon? and a proof of fitness?

The risk of injury is actually quite high in a 'tri'.

actually only unfit people get injured (thats a fact btw)

Senna would be well up for it. he was like the first driver to regulary keep up his fitness pushing to be the greatest! If button was in a mclaren?...

Spot on Race Chick,
A couple of other points. Some of the deals being signed by LH are contractural obligations.
Lactic acid causes cramp.
Every top athlete there ever was has had an injury at some point. I am not a top athlete but I am reasonably fit as I run long distances regularly, but I am sitting here now with Achilles Tendinitis (torn tendon) which just come on while I was running.
Tri's cause more injuries because of the long period of competition combined with changing disciplines and body temperature (swimming - cool, bike - air cool, running -hot).
Injuries can, of course occur during fitness training but the risk is much lower as it is a more controlled environment.
I think that a top driver has a responsibility to the team not to risk unnecessary injury.

True, but, as people have said, Hamilton does a lot of running etc. as part of his Formula One training anyway. Also, he did not have to take the event all that seriously: it was for charity, so all he really needed to do was show his face and get a few shots for the camera of him running. Finally, Hamilton's already been involved in a lot of extra-curricular activities which have distracted him from his racing and injured him.

For me, the whole incident just shows what a control freak Anthony Hamilton really is; he is his son's evil puppet master. And how hypocritical the Hamilton clan are.

Maybe that's not entirely fair MF. I do agree that Anthony L is probably a bit of a control freak, but, maybe that's why LH does as well as he does. He did not come into F1 in a McL seat just by chance. That was a single minded target that LH and his dad had worked on for years. JB is a great driver, no doubt, but LH has achieved more, and not by accident, and not just by driving. What happens off track is just as important as what happens on.

It's perfectly fair, those are MF's observations and they're far from unreasonable views. Lewis is in a McLaren seat because he met Ron Dennis and said he'd like to be when he was younger. Yes, it was with his father's help thta he got to be in that position, but Jenson Button once got into a similar situation wit his dad's help. Once he was in F1, even somewhat before that, his dad wasn't meticulously controlling his PR and how he spent his time. It's just not how it's done in the big leagues.

You know he could not have just turned up had a few photos taken, lost the challenge and gone home, he's highly competitive and would have to have raced to win. There are other ways he can help charities. Yes recently he's been involved in activities he shouldn't have been (like the flying episode) And his manager was criticisd for allowing it. This time when the risk is not just of loss of face but loss of fitness his manager pulls the plug...and he's criticised; you can't have this both ways :nono: At present Anthony is his manager not his evil puppet master and until he is replaced by another manager he acts in his clients best interests.Any other manager who had allowed Lewis to take part in that challenge before the season is over would have been failing in his duties.Your hatred of the hamilton family is clouding your thinking.

Ur love for the Hamilton family is clouding ur thinking. :hehe:

Wrong! I love Lewis' racing as Ive said many times. . But to constantly criticise his whole family for everything they do is ludicrous.

Well I mean it's only Lewis and Big Ant in the public light. So they are the only ones people can pass opinion on I guess.
