I take this statement as an insult if I were Heikki.

"The McLaren team is apparently resigned to the fact that Lewis Hamilton will not be able to overcome the penalty imposed on him ahead of the French Grand Prix, and hinted that it could put its weight behind team-mate Heikki Kovalainen in an attempt to prevent Ferrari and BMW Sauber from stealing too great a march on the Briton.

Hamilton was slapped with a ten-place grid penalty for collecting title rival Kimi Raikkonen in the pit-lane during the Canadian Grand Prix at the weekend and, even if he posts a pole-winning time at Magny-Cours, will have to start from at least the outside of row five. Even if McLaren produces a world-beating set-up for the French round, it has all but admitted that the Briton will not be a contender for victory.

Kovalainen, meanwhile, endured one of his toughest races as a McLaren driver in Montreal, but retains the backing of the Woking team for performances the potential of which may not have been obvious to the naked eye.

"The reality is that, in every race he's done for us so far, Heikki has done a fantastic job," team CEO Martin Whitmarsh insisted, "If you look at fuel-corrected times, he's frequently out-qualified Lewis but, this weekend, for whatever reason, he didn't quite get on it. "

I find it amazing that because of Hamilton's penalty, suddenly their support shifts to Heikki. Why is that? I don't remember hear their excitment about how Heikki is doing until this team. I think it's unfair

I don't have to do anything don't like the comments go somewhere that isn't around me, the name Snuggles comes from my lovly Misses what i have learnt about many of you us your all middle aged men, mean't to be working? but you spend your time on here? and when i'm 20,or older i hope to have a family and spend my time with them not with my cyber friends i've moved out an i'm 17? and the time spent on here is my leisure time which is very short???? i really would like to know if you are all real, because to be honest its a little pathetic to think men aged like my Dad sit on here arguing..when my Dads out there Working and earning a nice some of money for himself? kinda sad to think your all here...sad f1 fans who have no one else to talk too my misses knows more about F1 than you do, and shes only been watching it a couple of years now and makes more sense than you all do...

He lacked Hamiltons pace at Canada but it was just one of those tracks.
He has been really unlucky at the other races where he has had the pace i wouldnt count him out at all and if you do then its at your peril!

Dead right Bud. He's had appalling luck but he's fast and without the bad luck would be close to Lewis.

they do Heikki a great deal after every race, always read what Martin and Ron have to say on the team's website

Well you know, they need Heikki if they want to get back into the Constructors. Besides that, Heikki can act as damage limitation if he wins and the Ferrari's dont.

Yes someone else actually remembers this as well and it isn't just me. Snuggles do you really go for Ferrari or are you just there to angry the McLaren supporters? When I say things that at times that upsets McLarenites I say them with passion as I love Ferrari. You I have serious questions about. And what I hate more because of your behaviour Snuggles is that I get compared to you and that I do not like. If you are not a true Ferrari Tifoso then stop pretending to be one as you are actually annoying me more than you are the McLaren followers.
