Hehe, yeah he got a roasting alright. Ron has Autosport in his pocket, which is a great magazine, I love reading it, however it's very critical of the FIA.

So the FIA decided to get some of their own back ;p

The FIA deseve criticism. If they gey rid of Max and all the Ferrari folk(either a representitive from each team or no team representitives)then maybe autosport will be nice to them. I like reading it to...and F1 mag :D

DC complains about everything because he doesnt drive fast enough and his style is so sensitive that the car is rarely to his liking. McLaren may have favourites I dont deny that but the equipment is equal. No number1 thats a fundamental policy of McLarens.

Isn't it incredible how people are quick to see bad things in other teams but will always consider their team spotless..?

And regarding LH's psych strengths... I haven't really seen that. Maybe I was looking more in how's he behaving rather than his gorgeous boyish smile (sorry I couldn't resist). 8) It would be interesting to see him in a bit more alien environment, somewhere where he's not everyone's pet. Maybe in Ferrari or Renault, in a few years..?

texasmr2, I do not believe I am right all of the time. I have stood corrected a few times that I can remember off the top of my head and have apologised when I'm in the wrong. The most recent example came yesterday in a discussion with RC and I can remember twice about a month or so ago with DD. However, I do believe I am totally right on the hypocrisy of Ferrari and Todt on the issue of McLaren's appeal and am saddened to see that more people are afraid to admit I have a point. I have also been critical of a McLaren a few times on this forum and a few years ago, long before I was on this forum, I had a lot of very sharp things to say about McLaren's under performance. Just because McLaren are my favourite team certainly does not mean I exempt them from criticism when it's due.

I regret saying DD is a disgrace - the wording was far too strong - however, as a moderator on this forum he is supposed not to make sure threads are on topic and people are not being wound up. His post was totally irrelevant to the point in question. Furthermore, other people have just been making childish remarks and threads have been going round in circles. Why, when I produce a post based on facts can't somebody say fair enough and provide a sensible counter argument? Let me give you an example: I may say, "the FIA said they had no proof that McLaren used the data a team member had in his possession." Instead of the person replying saying something like: "Yeah, fair enough, but the team still had the data etc. etc."; it will be something like "McLaren are cheaters, they used the data, and Ferrari are totally innocent." That is exactly the mentality I am up against and why Ron Dennis became annoyed and possibly why my posts may be slightly more aggressive in the last few days. I try to post sensibly using facts, I don't swear and I cite references of where I get facts and articles. Other people don't and reply with a load of rubbish. In fact, I'm very surprised some people are oblivious to the obnoxious replies McLaren supporters get on this forum.

I have no personal issue with you, or anybody on this forum. At the end of the day that's what is: an internet forum. I have no desire to offend anybody. All I want is a discussion on the sport I love and the team I support without my views being denigrated. I try to respect the views of Ferrari fans but I don't see anything similar coming my way.

Finally, given the above, I'm actually quite annoyed you think I believe I am right all of the time and care nothing for others' opinions. It is certainly not the case.

P.S. I will PM this to you. If you have any issues we can discuss it that way, like grown men.

LH already announced he wouldn't want to drive for any other team. A detractor could say that this shows he's a coward.

Fair enough McLaren Fan. And yes, I agree with you that you're not a blind follower of McLaren - I've heard many a critical word from you that I wouldn't expect from a McLaren 'sheep' (to use bud's fav description of tifosi  ).

So, let's all chill a bit and not get too wound up. (speaking as a mod)

But that doesn't mean we can't have some intense banter (speaking as a passionate F1 fan) as long as we keep it clean (speaking as an admin):twisted::D

There's nothing wrong with banter and I'm glad you can see where I'm coming from and that the issue has been sorted.

McLaren arent "my team". And i wasnt saying they do nothing wrong, I was saying they do not have a number 1 driver policy. Whether thats right or wrong is a matter of dpinion.
When I spoke about L's psych strengths i was talking about the way he handled Alonso and the pressure that situation created. I thought that showed psychological strength and deapite being a rookie he made it clear that he wasnt there to walked over.
I can see past his boyish smile(gorgeous your words not mine). Thats exactly the point I was making, Underneath it there is a steely determination.
How will he fair in another team ? I rather suspect very well. But if he were to consider it there would be cries of disloyalty from his detractors. :D

Yes, you could say he's scared of driving for a non-english team, also taking preference to drive for a team that's just been disqualified by the FIA.

Some would see this as being not only scared, but also a cheat.

If I may, my outlook on Lewis's statement has alot to do with his personal history with McLaren, telling RD "I will drive F1 for you someday", RD taking a great talent under his wing and then the loyalty factor.

This is F1 though and only Lewis's first season and we all know how quickly thing's can change and sour in F1, especially the relationship between a driver and his team.

I think this a strange way of looking at things :? Hes a rookie in one of the best teams where he's well thought of. Why change? He'd be a fool to! Hes also ambitious and if the circumstances were not sp good for him then Im sure he would look elsewhere and the nationality of the team would be irrelevant. To call him a cheat and a coward is just abit silly  Ok its a lot silly actually :D
