- 19 Nov 07, 00:48#25042texasmr2, I do not believe I am right all of the time. I have stood corrected a few times that I can remember off the top of my head and have apologised when I'm in the wrong. The most recent example came yesterday in a discussion with RC and I can remember twice about a month or so ago with DD. However, I do believe I am totally right on the hypocrisy of Ferrari and Todt on the issue of McLaren's appeal and am saddened to see that more people are afraid to admit I have a point. I have also been critical of a McLaren a few times on this forum and a few years ago, long before I was on this forum, I had a lot of very sharp things to say about McLaren's under performance. Just because McLaren are my favourite team certainly does not mean I exempt them from criticism when it's due.
I regret saying DD is a disgrace - the wording was far too strong - however, as a moderator on this forum he is supposed not to make sure threads are on topic and people are not being wound up. His post was totally irrelevant to the point in question. Furthermore, other people have just been making childish remarks and threads have been going round in circles. Why, when I produce a post based on facts can't somebody say fair enough and provide a sensible counter argument? Let me give you an example: I may say, "the FIA said they had no proof that McLaren used the data a team member had in his possession." Instead of the person replying saying something like: "Yeah, fair enough, but the team still had the data etc. etc."; it will be something like "McLaren are cheaters, they used the data, and Ferrari are totally innocent." That is exactly the mentality I am up against and why Ron Dennis became annoyed and possibly why my posts may be slightly more aggressive in the last few days. I try to post sensibly using facts, I don't swear and I cite references of where I get facts and articles. Other people don't and reply with a load of rubbish. In fact, I'm very surprised some people are oblivious to the obnoxious replies McLaren supporters get on this forum.
I have no personal issue with you, or anybody on this forum. At the end of the day that's what is: an internet forum. I have no desire to offend anybody. All I want is a discussion on the sport I love and the team I support without my views being denigrated. I try to respect the views of Ferrari fans but I don't see anything similar coming my way.
Finally, given the above, I'm actually quite annoyed you think I believe I am right all of the time and care nothing for others' opinions. It is certainly not the case.
P.S. I will PM this to you. If you have any issues we can discuss it that way, like grown men.
