you guys are absolutely pathetic talking up "the moral ground" of not driving for McLaren! what utter rubbish.

guess Renaults imoral now aswell? a company reputation is tarnished by the wrongdoings of one employee makes them imoral then Ferrari is just as imoral with one dodgy employee of their own!

get off your f***ing high horse! funny the ones im referring to are Ferrari f***s! guess years of being accused of cheating has made you turn around and use the cheat word when ever you can.

This rant is not even worthy of a comment!

yet you quoted me and made a comment :P

Only because I knew you would like it  !

I just said that I believe that one's personal moral's and ethic's MAY lead them to not go to a team, heck that team could be Ferrari, I never pointed finger's at McLaren.

ok fair enough, i just think that an F1 driver having been raised to win win win will have a tough time resisting the attraction of such a team as McLaren. I'm sure most drivers do have morals, but you do have to weigh that against their will to rise as high as they can.

Also, just going back a bit more to the thread topic, I don't think Heidfeld will go to McLaren, he's had a great year at BMW and he should stay at the team where he's already built himself an impressive reputation. he inevitably wouldn't be top dog if he had Lewis to contend with and it's better for him to keep crunching on with that Sauber. Hoping he wins a race in the coming season!

I was never trying to resolve anything I just said that I believe that one's personal moral's and ethic's MAY lead them to not go to a team, heck that team could be Ferrari, I never pointed finger's at McLaren.

I find it amusing that anyone can take the moral high ground from the gutter

What are you saying RD, I'm in the gutter? :?

Texas - I see a someone taking the moral high ground RE McLaren who is a Ferrari fan similar to Barry Manilow saying Jimmy Durante had a big nose

I only left 'their will to win' out because we all know that a driver will ususally go where he has the best chance at winning, I thought that was a given?

Like I said I was not pointing finger's against McLaren sorry if it came off like that. Hey remember I'm just a hillbilly so what do I know?
Why is it though that McLaren fans' think they stand on 'higher ground' than Ferrari fan's? I honestly cannot think of one single post by a Ferrari fan that is not hounded and berated by McLaren fan's!

but if that's a given then how can you argue that a driver's morals might affect his (or her) decision?

Because it may have an effect on their decision as too whom they will drive for. I have been watching F1 for 30yr's and I would not drive for certain team's for certain reason's.

I've gotta agree with that. In some cases it might not be enough to snub a move to a team but in some it's more than a enough and that's when morals come into it

There is not a single driver who would not want to drive for McLaren

I say that with the same confidence of telling you that the sun will come up in the morning

What a load of BS!
DC, KR, FA(!), FM would be very unlikely to sign up with McLaren because they would not want to! MS IF he came back wouldn't want to either despite the Mercedes connection. There might be some other drivers as well, who knows.

but the first three you named have all driven for McLaren at some point!? so there was a time when they DID want to. Massa and Schumacher are both Ferrari, the only team ahead of McLaren in terms of speed, so that's understandable. name a driver from any team apart from Ferrari who has not already driven for McLaren who would not jump at the prospect of racing for them?

you dont really believe that do you?

the fact that three of them have driven for McLaren kinda spouls your argument....not that you have any kind of argument

First of all: you said not a single driver and with confidence and all the bullocks - so there, you're proven wrong.
Second of all: that's exactly it, they are drivers who drove for McLaren, got disillusioned and are saying NO MORE!
And they're not just back markers or also runs!

Thats really what this thread is about and thats really the answer to it as I see it. BMW will no doubt be more competitive next year having another season under there belt. I wouldnt be surprised to see Heidfeld in the fight for the WDC next year.

If Mclaren offered DC a contract now he would say no. Nothing to do with Morals.

So he would turn down a race-winning team? Get real. Anyway, McLaren won't be offering Coulthard a contract.

Coulthard: See above. Also add he was an average driver outclassed by his teammates
Raikkonen: Left McLaren because of the car, not because of the organisation, and is a quality team
Massa: In a top team so has no need to move as well

If the s*** hit the fan and Ferrari went down the tubes, Raikkonen and Massa would come a-begging to get into a very good McLaren car.
