I´ve worked in Galveston, Texas, and the beach was pretty much like the one on the photo.

That pic was taken on High Island at a fishing tournament and you are correct the beach's are usually like this. The condition and color of the sand and water is due to Texas being on the 'dirty side' of the Mississippi River and the current's. Albeit we do have day's were the water is blue and clear just not very often.

I can't see the block heater cord sticking out of your Grand Prix - don't have one or is it tucked in?

That reminds me of the following story:
Last summer when I went to the Canadian GP and drove back to my friends' house near Montreal on Saturday, a suicidal bird flew right in front of my car. I thought it was a goner. So, we arrived at the house and soon after, the resident cats expressed a keen interest in the front of my car. Turned out, that suicidal bird was in there, got scooped up at 50mph probably through the lower slots and ended up in that little compartment just behind the left grill. A screw driver to unscrew the grill released the poor robin - it'll never find its nest again, but at least it was still alive and seemingly unharmed.

If you look real close at the little black thing under the left front signal....thats it. Its frozen to the car!!

Something you'll never use in Italy

It's so frigging cold up there in Canada that most cars literally have a plug/cord sticking out that goes to the engine block. When you go somewhere like a mall or your work place, you'll find power outlets right next to your parking space and you plug your car in for the day so that it'll start up when you want to go home in the evening. At home you do the same in your garage, but you can also replace it with just a 60 watt bulb placed strategically under the car

Nope. Thats pretty much it. The bad thing about block heaters is they are the #1 cause of fires in cars.
I can say it is a BUGGER to start the car when its -35 celcius. Nothing wants to work. The stereo displays are VERY unresponsive, CD players wont work, seats are so cold women get chapped lips sitting on them (too far??). And fuel economy goes out the window. Further north they dont even turn the cars off, They just freeze up
