Yeah, 100 meters is a good place to start in a Formula One car, then you can work your way down from that once you begin to get the hang of things and develop a particular style. It's tough at the start but you get there in the end and it just becomes instinctive.

Well, that's a start. With just anti-lock brakes on Low and TC on Medium, I can comfortably out-pace the AI on a couple of the Brianza configurations and I'm a little closer to the pace on tracks like Monaco and Suzuka. Studying the AI braking points is actually quite helpful, though copying them tends just to lead to crashes and spins. But hey, I'll get there :D

Also, the 1991 mod (or demo of it, at least) has been released on rFactor Central, so that's something more for me to play with

Indeed, the feedback for it doesn't look so hot so far, but nonetheless I'll download it tomorrow night when I come back from my jog.

There's also another 1991 mod being made by a different group... http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cf ... %20F1%2091

And also the 2007 ChampCar World Series mod has just been released too!!:clap:

Really not impressed by the 1991 mod so far - some of the cars have the bog-standard BMW Sauber F1.07 sounds!

Hoping that the Champ Car mod will be better. :D

No wonder the 1991 mod is bad, a lot of the content is leeched and the mod has been removed from RFactorCentral as a result. Good job the other 1991 mod is coming soon. :)

When you get the Champcar mod and install it, you'll need to alter the .rfm file for the mod due to an error that causes crashes. I can send you mine if you want.

Fancy a race on it? It's surprisingly easier to drive than the previous Champcar mod by the same people and the car doesn't kick out as much when you apply the power, but there's quite a bit of understeer in fast corners. Still, that can be fixed with a good setup. ;)

Front wing and camber-adjustments are my friend. Your .rfm file would be much appreciated, if it's going to crash. :)

Sorry to bump, but, do you have the Sugo track (with all the cool wet configurations)?

Hmm I don't think I've heard of the Sugo track before.

Ah. It's ace. I was just wondering because I wanted to see what the average lap time was for Formula BMW mod on the wet track, but can't find much on the webz, since I am having far more luck being good at it than the dry config >.<

What spec is your current computer?

RFactor will allow you to play it on a low ish spec with some of the "flashier" features disabled.

Is there a way to display the ideal line around a circuit? I'm having a bit of trouble learning it on some of them :/

I think it's best to get a slow AI car out on track and follow him. I sometimes have trouble learning lines on unfamiliar circuits too.

Don't suppose you have an Xbox 360 controller, do you? They're half-decent for playing the game - the LT and RT give you some control over the throttle and brakes, at least. :)
