Bernie is not doing this out of the good of his heart; he is doing it because he will be in breach of his contract with circuit owners as alluded to in the article. I think it's a bit late in the day for teams to runs three cars with less than 2 weeks to the start of the 2015 season!

Not knowing as much history as some, I was hesitant to make the comment;
but, it was concerning to read that Force India, Lotus and Sauber are being
given "...an advance on the prize money usually paid to the teams over the
course of this season...".

What happens mid-season, if the situation isn't any better?

They pack their equipment and fold the team; but expect another bail out from Bernie, he needs 18 cars on the grid contractually!

Having just read this:-

"Alonso was in a confused state when he regained consciousness, to the extent that he did not know he was a Formula 1 driver or why he was in the car."
(source: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/31732315 )

I'm rather concerned now and I think there's a possibility of Alonso not being at Malaysia either.. I'm not an Alonso fan but I am a little concerned about him, like him or hate him you can't deny that his skill and talent enrich the F1 paddock. I hope he gets 100% well asap and is back where he belongs, racing wheel to wheel with others. :)

I'm thinking they can be very cautious, if only that it's early in the season and they are about to find out
how competitive the car will be from the outset, which sounds like not so much.

Scary stuff!! As much as it's not likely, let's hope this doesn't happen again to anyone!!

Sports concussions have been in the news for a while, so there is no way anyone can say
he should get back into the cockpit and drive. However, from what it sounds, drivers did??

Let's hope that Alonso is not ruled out long term, I have been looking forward to seeing what Alonso can do in the McLaren; also as side note, to see how Button reacts to having Alonso as a team mate, will he be able to step upto the plate and match or even beat Alonso, the jury is out of that one, I am a fan of Button, but I think Alonso is the better all round driver.

Yep, looking forward to seeing how the two of them stack up against each other, I'm hoping they're competitive with each other and that they can get some decent results. As long as Alonso can remember what he's doing sitting in an F1 car.

As long as Alonso can remember what he's doing sitting in an F1 car.

If he cant remember the last 20 years like some articles are saying, that'll be interesting if he believes he is still in karting, driving a F1 car like a cart will be entertaining.

Eccelstone adds his opinion on Alonso's crash:

"Formula 1's big boss, Bernie Ecclestone, has stated that Fernando Alonso's accident was "completely unexplainable".
Ecclestone said that he totally understood the McLaren driver's decision to pull out from competing in the Australian Grand Prix, while he failed to understand what happened to his car during testing in Barcelona. "What really surprised me is what happened, what caused him to make that decision [to turn into the wall]. He also doesn't understand", the 84-year-old supremo noted.
Ecclestone stressed that the team has refused to provide any further information on the incident. "They don't want to discuss it, so there's not much that we can do", he said.
"Really it’s a sporting matter. That's something the FIA [Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile] should deal with or is dealing with. You know, Fernando is a little surprised about how all this has happened to him. So maybe this is one of those things that needs to be investigated", he added."

It is a bit of a riddle as McLaren has stated that their car was not at fault which puts it over to Alonso but he says he can't remember. As well McLaren has not provided any telemetry to back their claim that the car was ok or to show what Alonso was doing in the car just prior to going into the wall.

There is this information gap where people are coming up with many different and imaginative theories.
