He is not even 6 ft tall, so you are absolutely right, he is not bigger than a team. Just the hospitality trailer is bigger than him

Good at least now you understand how moronic your original statement was

No the statement you understand and agree with (big = physical size) is the moronic one. The original statement I have backed up with hard facts, which you have been unable to understand or counter

Best to follow the sportsmen - the drivers and not the team

Lewis for example is bigger than a team as he has his own engineer (paddy) and his own loyal supporters who follow him to any team he chooses to use their product

Do you are saying that the only reason Lowe moved to Mercedes was because of Lewis? So financial incentive, career progression, better family life ratio had nothing to do with it at all. Just Lowe is his personal engineer!

what I am saying is clear enough. Lewis is a more attractive proposition for many F1 followers than a team. He is also one of those drivers who is rated highly by engineering staff. It doesnt matter why paddy moved to Merc

Only the result and the facts, which is that Lewis is a driver that can affect and galvanise staff and followers. And so Paddy moving to Merc is commonly perceived to have been following him to Merc.
Note the preponderance of the same context 'Following'

Here are some examples of that perception;
Technical director Lowe to join Hamilton at Mercedes from 2014
Could Paddy Lowe be set to follow Lewis Hamilton out of McLaren to Mercedes?
Tech chief Paddy Lowe to quit McLaren to link up with Hamilton at Mercedes
PADDY LOWE LEAVES MCLAREN TO JOIN LEWIS HAMILTON AT MERCEDES
Lowe to follow Hamilton to Mercedes

Ron isn't going to take control, that will be up to Brawn.

"He's tremendously good at controlling a car in oversteer. We saw that from the first moment he got in our car. We saw the data, and on every entry we could see there was a massive correction on the steering, and our normal drivers would have been bitching like hell that the car was undriveable, yet he didn't even pass comment. So with a driver like that, you're better equipped to push the boundaries to new levels. Speaking generically of that characteristic, a lot of the performance limit of a car is set by stability; if you can't hang on to it, you will have to introduce understeer in that zone. But if you have a driver better able to deal with oversteer in those zones that induce it, then you will have a less-understeery car elsewhere and therefore more total grip over the lap. The great drivers over the years - Senna, Schumacher, Mansell - have all had that ability. Like for like compared to other drivers, they want more front end."

Would be interesting to see a quote from Paddy where he talks about financial incentive, career progression, better family life ratio

Fair enough, we can never know the reasons for these things. But we can safely say Lewis has followers and an engineer who followed him from one team to another

They are the facts. I am sure other engineers have follow other drivers as well in the past.

Does that mean Massa is bigger than the team because Smedley followed him?

Lots of possibilities. However to categorically say this or that, one should at least base it on some publically available facts or quotes from the players themselves.

e.g. Paddy followed Lewis to Merc is a possibility. here is what Paddy said about lewis, here is the timing, here is what the media have perceived it as

or Paddy did not follow Lewis to Merc, it was only for more money, family, career. Here is what i base that claim on. Oh hold on, its what I think so just take my word for it, you are delusional

So you can only understand that when someone is talking about followers and following teams vs drivers and mentions that Lewis is bigger than a team and even has an engineer follow him, that must mean any driver is bigger than any team if their personal assistant follows?

Sometimes its better to take things said within the context, instead of extract 1 sentence and get medieval on it

The reason Montezemolo keeps saying Ferrari is bigger than the driver is because he is not so stupid to not realise that superstar drivers in F1 become more popular than whole teams often and that top drivers can attract top staff when they move
