Aren't all of these nuances what the stewards are supposed to be there to decide?

Well yes, but is that a good thing? Do people really want stewards to have even more opportunity to alter race results based on judgement calls/politics?

...or not alter based on the experience of a former driver.

Right. I guess what I'm saying in simplest terms is that I'd rather have an imperfect rule enforced 100% consistently rather than a good rule enforced inconsistently.

erm yeah... welcome, but am I missing something in the "english" to "american" translation? over here polak is a derogatory term for Poles.

EDIT: and by Poles I mean Polish people, from Poland just to nip the peanut gallery comments in the bud. :)

The strangest thing just happened, with the current discussion I googled Jackson Pollock. I've never paid much attention to his work before and know nothing about him but to me, looking at his paintings was like listening to Jazz (I don't like Jazz btw) so I googled 'Jazz and Jackson Pollock' and this came up.

http://muhs549.wikispaces.com/Pollock's ... nspiration

Jackson Pollok listened to Jazz as inspiration to become one with his canvas. He submerged himself in the music in order to reach a higher state of mental clarity where he could not be distracted from his unconscious relationship with the paint that dripped from his brush.

Couldn't he have done that with a joint? To say that you don't like Jazz is like saying you don't like Rock, there's just too much variety in the genre, I bet you I can find something you'd like.

I think the FiA also used Jackson Pollak's work as the inspiration for their rules.

Maybe if his work conveys what he was experiencing at the time, if he'd done that then looking at his work would get me stoned or make me want to go and roll one up.

Possibly but for the most part I don't

I think the FiA also used Jackson Pollak's work as the inspiration for their rules.

From what I've read there came a point when Jackson decided a painting was complete and didn't need any more messing around with.
