This Apple Versus Android Device Maker is not about money, it's about Apple monopolizing the market through legal means.

Monopolizing the market would make them even more [filthy] rich so it kind of is about money. I think what you meant was "This Apple Versus Android Device Maker is not all about money".

No, I meant what I wrote, I believe that Apple wants to be undisputed #1 more than they want the money, the money is a nice by-product of that clear #1 status.

But Apple may have scored an own goal, many people see this as Samsung have copied Apple so Samsung phones/tablets/computers are just as good for half the price...

Unsurprising, stock markets tend to have these kneejerk reactions, I suspect it'll recover when they realise that Samsung's latest generation of devices are not in breach of these patents...

The only winner in this is Microsoft

Apple, have revealed they are bullies
Android, is going to have a cloud over its head.

It looks like HTC and Samsung started to dip into the Microsoft market earlier this year.

I agree with you on Apple, but android doesn't seem to be doing too bad. The majority of my friends own/have owned something that ran android. I only know about 2 people who I'm certain have owned/own a windows phone and in between there are people who use iPhones and blackberrys. In any case, android doesn't seem to be doing too badly since its available in almost any new phone thats not manufactured by Apple or Lexicon. I'm pretty sure HTC makes a variety of Windows and android phones.

I meant after the Samsung/Apple case has been announced. I would think that anyone putting Android on something they have built are going to be worried that Apple are going to be look for them next.

I don't believe that Android 4+ has problems with patent infringement, Google have taken measures to remove anything that could possibly be construed as patent infringing. Most new phones coming out now will have Android 4, can't see too many Android 2.3.x devices being released now that Android 4.1.x have been released.

has Adobe stopped supporting Flash for Android?

I'm pretty sure thats the case, at least for the time being.

I believe it is Adobe that has stopped supporting Android (since v4.1.x). Since Flash support was omitted from iOS, Adobe has been working with HTML5 Video instead.

Samsung Pays Apple $1 Billion Sending 30 Trucks Full of 5 Cents Coins

This morning more than 30 trucks filled with 5-cent coins arrived at Apple’s headquarters in California. Initially, the security company that protects the facility said the trucks were in the wrong place, but minutes later, Tim Cook (Apple CEO) received a call from Samsung CEO explaining that they will pay $1 billion dollars for the fine recently ruled against the South Korean company in this way.

the funny part is that the signed document does not specify a single payment method, so Samsung is entitled to send the creators of the iPhone their billion dollars in the way they deem best.

This dirty but genius geek troll play is a new headache to Apple executives as they will need to put in long hours counting all that money, to check if it is all there and to try to deposit it crossing fingers to hope a bank will accept all the coins.

Lee Kun-hee, Chairman of Samsung Electronics, told the media that his company is not going to be intimidated by a group of “geeks with style” and that if they want to play dirty, they also know how to do it.

You can use your coins to buy refreshments at the little machine for life or melt the coins to make computers, that’s not my problem, I already paid them and fulfilled the law.

A total of 20 billion coins, delivery hope to finish this week.

Let’s see how Apple will respond to this.

If it is, as a board member for Samsung, I'd be pissed. How much did it cost them to count it in the first place?

Frankly I don't think it's true... how the F@ck would they round up a billion dollars in nickles in the first place and then spend an extra few million for the logistics of the prank?
