The first turn at Istanbul Park always reminded me of the opening corner at Interlagos.

I too, have always declared myself a big fan of Istanbul Park. It's introduction back in 2005 saw a brand new legendary corner... Turn 8, a corner which embarrassed both Jacques Villeneuve and Juan Pablo Montoya that year, and that's just from distant memory.
Fantastic, undulating circuit, with a good mix of long straights and fast corners. It's a shame it's no longer on the calendar, IMO.
The crowds were always, quite sadly, too small.
If it wasn't in my country it would still be one of my favorite modern tracks because of this.Way better than the contemporary ones.Btw,I also liked the first turn, when I went to watch the race there. It was a shame that the crowds were small,it is about the view of people here, what they think about motorsports, also their view about how to spend their money and time,I knew people who didn't want to bother traffic.
