And i think Italy's racing colour is supposed to be Azure Blue but that might be wrong... where the hell is AKR when you actually need her eh?

I think Scotty is right, Ferrari's colour is yellow but were forced to run the red for being an Italian entrant. The Azure is for their sporting teams i thought? even though the A1GP team ran this colour also.

Truth! People have the hardest time believing this, Ferraris marketing thus far has made people believe the color red was created just for them. When it isn't even theirs.

I was using Wikipedia out of sheer laziness. As for Ferrari being red, I don't think it has been "Ferrari red" for a long while. I read a few years ago that the shade of red is more "Marlboro red".

The red was quite a bit darker in the 90s. Today it's almost orange. Probably to do with compatibility with TV cameras.

It's Marlboro red not Ferrari red and has been for years.

In person the Ferrari was even more orange than appeared on tv, but in 2007 with the loss of vodafone they reverted to a more closer shade to that of Modena red as they traditionally used. They have gone a lighter shade again around 2010 coinciding with Santander it's still not as bright or orangey as the early 2000s.


Here you can see in 2007 they almost went a candy apple, in person up close you notice the speckle affect they applied.
