Ferrari have confirmed they will definitely be running a flexi-front at Turkey. Quite a few changes to the front and rear of the car including rake.

They will be testing at Vairano next week.

Domencali not optimistic.

Negative psychology or real pain?

hey what's up with this Mclaren people invasion in this thread?? go back to your 'That's mclaren' thread or smething....
:hehe:

What happened?
No Max Mosley
No unlimited testing
No Secret Veto
No Bridgestone making tires fo Ferrari only
No Schumeister

Where to now?

Back to the late 80s

lol

My role in this thread was to reassure the Ferrari club to chill, Redbull are not going to coast to the Championships as Mclaren still exist. I'm sure you guys prefer to see your old nemesis taking the titles, rather than the haughty new boys on the block with their annoying front wing flexing away in happiness. :hehe:

Not really, how is this thread about that anyway? It's about why Ferrari are so far behind, not who they are far behind.

Also, where's this Massa is faster than Alonso stuff coming from? He's been out-qualified at all 3 events by Alonso, was behind him on pace in two. Made some very good starts though. At the most for Massa, you can say he's a lot closer to Alonso at this stage.

Well, it won't hurt to put things a little bit more in perspective. :D

Anyway, I know I jumped the gun a bit in terms of Massa but it gives me great joy to see Alonso behind his teammate at any time. I know he can't stand that, which gives me that extra bit of joy.

Well, when people are talking about something else, that just opens up derailing the thread.

Ferrari lack innovation, before it used to be everyone followed what Ferrari did.Now they're just another team.Look at Renault, this season they came up with FEE for better or worse,McLaren a whole new concept. And what did Ferrari come up with??
All these other teams know you cant beat Newey at his own game.

Ferrari need revamping top to bottom, their current way of doing business in F1 is not working.

Ferrari will turn this car into a race winner, no doubt. Doesnt mean it will be enough to keep the fight for the championship. But i doubt they'll look this poor for the rest of the season... mclaren and Merc do look good as well........

Anyways, ferrari havent been the most inovative team lately, but on several yrs they've had the best or one of the best cars, and none of those times have they ran funny gimmicks. Mclaren have become pretty innovative, and interestingly enough, seems its happened after they injected new blood (ie Whitmarsh)...

so maybe Ferrari are in time for some change, or some break from their conservative approach?? its kinda too soon to say, considering they were challenging last yr. Just because they are having a tough start, doesnt mean we should go questioning their whole approach.

Whitmarsh new blood? He started at McLaren in 1989!

ok then, Mclaren started being more innovative once they got rid of ron Dennis hehe j/k

but anyway, Whitmarsh in and ron dennis out is definitely a big change for the team, even if whitmarsh's been there forever.

you dont win squat for being innovative. i never said otherwise.

All i've said is Mclaren have been a little bit more innovative since whitey's been at the helm than in the last yrs of his legendism. While on the other hand, Ferrari haven't been all that innovative fo a long while. But like i said before, they have come up with pretty solid cars even without anything overly innovative.

or should i have plugged Ron 'is a legend' for anytime i used his name?

I also think SF will turn the 150 into a winner, hopefully soon. It's still such early days in the championship ( at least 400 points still available to a driver). If either Ferrari driver wins and Seb has a DNF then even we would be less than 20 points off the lead in the WDC.

Anyways, ferrari havent been the most inovative team lately

Can't say I agree with that SF haven't been innovative. I just think we've been a little unlucky in that all our innovations were banned :-) Remember, we were first to introduce flexible wings and, even though we never failed an FiA test with our flexible wing we were banned from using it. Also our 2007 floor, it never failed any FiA test, but it was banned. Lastly our front wheels, passed all FiA tests in 2010, yet they tried to ban them this year. We have produced a version that meets the new requirements, but, because of the new regs they are less effective (McLaren have copied this).

It's very clear we have been innovative, it's just that we have been unlucky in that FiA has acted very fast to cut off our use of those innovations - bearing in mind none of those innovations ever failed any test.

... because they are having a tough start, doesnt mean we should go questioning their whole approach.

We've had more than enough changes at SF recently. Adding Pat Fry (full time) and Rory Byrne (consultant) to the team are two significant additions. By our standards, last year wasn't good enough, but, for most teams, they'd kill to be leading the WDC going into the last race of the season.

innovation =/= finding a way to break the rules...

There is no doubt in my mind that Ferrari are still a cracking team, they just seem to be having some problems as all teams do from time to time. I don't think we'll see them properly compete for the top spot in the championship this season, but they'll certainly provide entertainment fighting for wins here and there.

You can have Pat Fry he ain't no Newey! :hehe:

Fair call, but, we do have RB, he trumps Newey every time :D

I'd rather Newey myself, fair to say he has designed more championship winning cars with more teams than Byrne. Add the fact Rory is only a consultant compared to Newey who is full time I know who I'd rather have in 2011.
