Well, you gotta risk it...
Remember the quote: "He who dares, wins..."??? :D

Remember what happened to the British Special Air Service, whose motto that is, in Libya recently?

How about this?!

F1 : McLaren Mercedes MP4-26 declared least reliable Formula 1 car for 2011
Thursday, 17 March 2011 08:21

According to an analysis by Germany's Auto Motor und Sport, excluding the HRT F1 team who did not run a car at all during the winter tests, McLaren was the least reliable team of the 2011 pre-season and Ferrari's 150 Italia doing the most mileage.

And at the bottom of the ranking, behind Force India, Team Lotus and Marussia Virgin, is McLaren, having done almost half of Ferrari's nearly 7000 kilometres.

"I'm not going to lie. It's not the best way to go into the season," admitted Jenson Button.

The MP4-26 was launched late after skipping the opening Valencia test, but it has since been plagued with exhaust, hydraulic and aerodynamic problems.

800 kilometres behind Ferrari on the mileage list is Red Bull, whose Christian Horner said the team has "never been so well prepared" for a new season.

Button insisted: "We are a long way down on it (mileage) but there is no point getting negative about it and down at this point of the season."

Third best was Sauber, ahead of Mercedes, Toro Rosso, Renault and Williams.

I hope they wil do okay this season because I have a bet on Hammy, I think he will be back to his 2008 ways...one can hope?

I would be putting my money on Button within the McLaren team this year. He is going to handle tyre degradation much better than Hamilton.

The likelihood that it was actually SAS and not Paras, 16 air assault, etc so on, is pretty low considering the SAS are pretty much, not completely, untouchable, and a bunch of ragtag libyans supressing them seems like awful fanciful reporting, i think it was a headline on the sun.........so pretty sure its true......LOL.

Slightly more damning given the brodacaster, but still big things missing.

1. Nothing in that video explained how it was SAS, the SAS is so revered and well known nowadays that the moment they knwo it was a " special mission" involving "special forces" SAS becomes the immediate collaquial term.

2. They keep referring to special forces in that video, do you know how many organisations with the armed forces that includes, ive listed three, royal marines are deemed special forces. They seem reluctant to keep referring to them as SAS, perhaps a misleading headline to attrack eyes.

3. Ive just searched for more infor and the guardian online says some of those caputured were MI6 agents. The headline on the article is SAS-backed, this surely suggest they just approved the plan?

4. The telegraph says the SAS were an escort, jigsaw coming together now, perhaps they were captured, and were SAS, but it seemed fishy the SAS couldnt outwit Libyan rebels. Maybe cause it seems now they werent meant to/ authorsied to.

Well, it could be it couldnt, if your british and savvy youll know everyone knwos who the SAS are and what they do, could be SAS sure... but its clear their mission was purely to escort. Which i guess they carried out.

Mr Hague, who accepted responsibility over delays in the Foreign Office's attempt to rescue Britons from Libya and the bungled 'diplomatic' mission to the country last weekend, has faced claims he is ready to resign and has lost his 'mojo'.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politic ... to-it.html,

I don't think it really matters if it was SAS or not, call it being part of a team (you take it together, don't single out individuals). The text here though,
The botched SAS mission to Libya was authorised by Foreign Secretary William Hague, the government has confirmed.
( http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12662943) Clearly signifies SAS involvement.

The Libyan rebels were probably just being (understandably, and even justifiable) very cautious and arrested them.

We don't actually know what the diplomatic team were doing though, if they were just supposed to open dialogue with the Libyan rebels, them being arrested isn't a big deal (captures headlines though, and gives a prestige boost for the organisation of the militia) but it looks like hardly any positive diplomatic work was done.

It does matter if its SAS or not, i thouht thats the sole thing we were discussing, either way the official and unofficial M.O.D, SAS policy is to not discuss special forces, infact unless it REALLY cannot be hidden, they list KIA SAS members by their Original Unit ie Paras, or Royal Engineers, they dont discuss the SAS full stop, theyve hardly officially admitted it exists. So how the sun knows better, or the bbc, beats me.

It was a diplomatic mission anyway tht is confirmed. If the SAS got caught this time then they got caught.

Well, yeah initially the discussion started about the SAS how it got there I'll never know, but to me I don't think it matters who, its more the what.

Bah, what do you think the odds are of Alonso coming higher in the championship this season then Lewis?

We might as well get this thread locked, I don't think anyones denying there are concerns with McLaren, and its not too long until the first race and we actually get to SEE what the deal is.
