But tonight I had my heart broken. :(

What happened?

Ah. Well, as explained to RC earlier, nothing really. I had a bit of a disappointing night, and was being ever so slightly over dramatic about it.

In a nutshell, I went to see a band that was the soundtrack to my late teens/ early twenties. The best years of my life you might say. Ive seen them 14 times now. BEST LIVE BAND EVER. Well they used to be. Hadn't seen them for about 5 years now maybe? And well - they were just going through the motions. They are a shadow of the live band they used to be. And it did break my heart, in a way. I just wish Id left it at 13.....

I had an interesting day at work today. Today we had our seventh person resign from our office of 13 in the space of a month. I've got a sweet deal where I only work 3 days per week so I don't get too stressed by the volatile environment where I work.

My boss was the first to go, and with him went a team leader and then 5 team members.

I have a friend in a very high place in the company - our Managing Director. It helped me get my foot in the door in this company and they have since promoted me because, without sounding cocky, I'm doing a fantastic job. But now the situation at work is getting ridiculous. Most of the staff have resigned for similar reasons. They are frustrated by our Regional Manager (our boss' boss) who just comes in and changes everyone's jobs at the drop of a hat. Staff apply for roles they are interested in, within the company, but then get knocked back for no reason and instead have their jobs changed to something they don't want to do.

This woman is an ego maniac - and thinks she can just treat everyone's lives like it's a game. The issue is she is well known in the industry. I've been facing a decision - should I be a whistleblower and let the Managing Director know of the situation? Or should I leave it for their exit interviews and stay out of it?

Well today I decided to voice my concerns privately, and instantly they sent a General Manager to the office to tactfully and cautiously try and ask the staff their reasons for leaving. Looks like they are trying to gather enough information to stop the rot.

Shame we've lost so much staff, it will be difficult for us to recover....

Well the name of the band is irrelevant, as that will only lead to mocking and arguments.

You're 36 now so you'd have been 18 in 1995, so the Charlatans?

Ah, c'mon - you can tell us that it was Milli Vanilli

plausible... and that would explain why they just weren't the same since one of the members committed suicide.

You can try and guess as much as you want Andrew, but I guarantee you will never get it. To be honest I doubt you have even heard of them.....
