I was surprised how many people genuinely thought Toyota would win. Their qualifying position was largely down to the fuel factor, Glock is a solid driver but nothing too special, and Trulli is a mobile chicane come race day.

I was convinced Vettel had it in the bag, but Jenson drove a better opening few laps and Vettel just got bogged down.

Yes it is true, Alonso did faint. Im surprised none of the F1 sites have picked this up.
Alonso’s drinking pump failed during the race, leaving him without water most of the duration. (What a bloody drive then!) He subsequently suffered from dehydration as he got out of the car and fainted. Although I'm glad to say he's fully recovered.

Furthermore, he also had a large burn on his back. Some are speculating it could be the KERS system.

Great, so what did KERS do this weekend.

- proved unreliable again, Massa
- reduced overtaking and caused frustration. Vettel couldn't get near Lewis down the straights. Rubens couldn't even get Piquet after running his nose inchs from the Renault's rear
- caused injury to a driver

Gawd, when does Mosely leave the FIA. Hopefully the next guy has half a brain and will see fit to remove this crap from F1.

I got really bored during the race today. It all became too predictable, Button won the race the second he came of the pits ahead of Truili. Vettel or Truili could've challenged him, but no, enter KERS. Lewis got ahead of Vettel, and Vettel had turbulence in the corners and no chance to overtake down the straights. Then the Vettel vs Truili battle, the cars still don't seem to be able to follow each enough.

Remember Brawn telling Rubens he had a little boost. They were running low revs, so he could turn them up to overtake. Hellooo, the cars are limited to 18,000rpm. Give them all a little button that lets them exceed that limit a set number of time during a race. Maybe for so many laps per race or something like that. Not this stupid KERS system.

I know races are not meant to be comfortable. Its not your S-Class Benz, but damn... a lot of drivers suffering burns from KERs and other electrical. They really earned their paychecks today.

Ultimately, if KERS is going to remain in Formula One, it absolutely must be in the form of the flywheel system. Batteries and heat do not go well together and the chemicals often used in them are not the safest. A mechanical solution would be better in the safety area, though I can't tell whether it would be more reliable. Failures, though, could be less hazardous. This was supposed to be one of the better races for KERS and, to be honest, I was less impressed in Bahrain than I was in Melbourne and China, to be honest.

Congrats to Button and Brawn once again. I'd have liked to see what Vettel could have done had he not got stuck in traffic for most of the race, but a second for him will do me nicely. I'm looking forward to seeing what a Red Bull with a diffuser can do... but I hope it doesn't screw with the rest of the car too much. Webber had a pretty good race, considering where he started and all. And I bet Ferrari are relieved that they finally got some points, though I personally wish it had been Massa that got them - he seems to have a much better attitude than Kimi at the moment.

I still don't like KERS. They should just get rid of it. It's just so dangerous! They should at least make sure everything is as safe as it possibly can be before they put it on the car. I don't think it adds all that much to the race, either. And to top all that off, it's really unfair on the heavier drivers like Kubica and Webber.

Mclarens KERS is fine so when its don't well it works great.

Yes I'm increasingly concerned about the safety of KERS but I guess the FIA would struggle to put all the suitable safety requirements in about KERS without know what all the issues could be. There are other safety concerns as well there needs to be more or stronger tyre tethers because they are just not doing the job.

Lewis has never compared himself to Senna its just other people who have done that.

It was Senna's sister who compared Lewis to Senna I think! Obviously JA also made some comparisons.
