Meh. Wouldn't want it to end up like autosport's forum, would we? There's so many members, you can't keep track of your posts and discussions. A post is followed by tonnes of replies within minutes.

Not like the close-knit community we have here.

To be honest, I found this place a bit off putting when I was new.

Meh. Wouldn't want it to end up like autosport's forum, would we? There's so many members, you can't keep track of your posts and discussions. A post is followed by tonnes of replies within minutes.

The more people you have the more opinions or you'll end up discussing the same stuff with the same people with the same opinions. That's why I signed up to another small place which currently makes a ghost town look busy.

To an extent yes. A total ghost town like the site that we were discussing in that other thread on Wednesday is depressing but somewhere like Planet F1 is near impossible to keep track of you discussions due to the sheer number of members responding.

Aye, a balance is needed, it's nice to be able to follow what the same people say in different threads, and in the non-f1, more personal topics - like the "What you did today thread", or the "who are you", or even ages from "happy birthday". Builds up community, and a sense of life-like socialising.

I think we can therefore all agree that this forum is the perfect balance? Do we think that Forumula1.com is in a good place at the moment? As good as it always has been? The older members will know better than me. Vaptin, what do you think? We touched on it briefly in the chatroom yesterday I think...
