Koby is clearly a talanted driver, but so was Ukyo Katayama. he was destined for great things and was at the time the best F1 driver to come out of Japan but he got stuck at Tyrrell and his career floundered. Koby is definately a race winner of the future. You read it here first. :D

Would like to see how Lewis handles driving for a mid field team.....me thinks he couldnt hack it

Did you miss 2009 season??? The first 9 races McLaren wasn't even midfield,up until that point Lewis was 11th in the points. So he has for half a season at least.

...Anyone would think that Lewis is the only driver to have crashes this year....

Lewis is THE most penalized driver in Formula 1 this season. Hardly appropriate decorum for a previous (and aspiring future) world champion..

Spa08,Fuji 08,Monaco11 are the most ridiculous penalties I have ever seen in F1,bar Senna's robbery of WDC.

Someone asked how would Hamilton drive in a mid-field team? Well, let's put it like this. How would Kobayashi drive in McLaren?

If Kobayashi was worthy of any top seat he'd had gotten it already,Sauber is mini Ferrari and it seems that Koba ain't even as good as current Massa yet or they'd had signed him.

Koby is very light on personal sponsorship, that's what could hold him back. Anyone that saw his first few races would know that this guy is fast.

If Spa 08 was ridiculous, then you would say that a lot are ridiculous. For example: Alonso's pass on Kubica at Silverstone 2010, which was a carbon copy of the Hamilton incident.

Monaco 11 - Hamilton was driving a bumper car, and Fuji 08, both Lewis and Massa shouldnt have had penalties, they were both racing incidents.

They weren't alike at all! Alonso never gave his position back to Kubica after cutting the chicane. Lewis did but was penalised because he didn't give it back loooong enough.
Anyways Lewis fans it seems Lewis is following a trend at Spa. He wins 08, crashes 09 Wins 10, crashes 11. Expect a win there next year :D

That's a scary thought there Vlad. Though it's about time a Japanese driver got into a good team. I think Kobayashi is the best chance for that.

Just dont go putting him in a red bull otherwise he'll steal Vettels thunder right! lol

Look at this, what Ross Brawn says is extremely encouraging......

From PlanetF1, a different view of Kamui
Kamui Kobyashi's becoming a bit of a liability on the track and there should be some serious post-race investigations into some of his actions. Maybe it is just sheer ineptitude - although the way he cannoned into the Toro Rossos in Hungary looked like something more.
First there was the case in Canada where he drove so slowly through Turn 2 at the Isle Notre Dame circuit that the very experienced Nick Heidfeld drove into the back of him. In Hungary he was on tyres that were shot-to-pieces and tried to defend his position by swerving at the Toro Rossos. This race he braked unexpectedly early for the Bus Stop chicane so that the pursuing Rubens Barrichello ran into the back of him. Again, another experienced driver losing a front wing against his gearbox.
As a footnote, there was the Lewis Hamilton incident as well, and although Lewis has to take blame for being a bit casual in the way he moved over, you have to wonder what Kobayashi thought he could achieve by putting his car there. He was never going to get the place back. Despite what the wigged wonder thought about it, KK didn't have his wheels on the grass, there was a wheel and a half of space to the white line.

Are you freakin kidding me? Alonsos pass was PASSING WHILE cutting the track!! He simply went around Kubica by taking a shortcut and never gave it back!

Hamilton went offtrack to avoid the collision with Kimi (Kimi basically pushed him out), he GAVE the place back and then RETOOK the place 200m down the road! And got penalized for it...

Big difference Ferrari man. Big difference.

Bud, your seriuosly proposing a counter argument, against ross brawn, christian horner and stefano domenicallis views, all of which praise Kobayashi, with one even saying directly, we would certainly be looking at him if the circumstances arose...

Against what an English based tabloid style F1 website, amateur at best, has a tiny little column on....................with no expert input at all.

It doesnt even matter what they or you think in this case, those with the power are on my side of the argument, not yours.
#272156
via his Twitter account, Hamilton said: "After watching the replay, I realise it was my fault today 100%. I didn't give Kobayashi enough room though I thought in (sic) was past. Apologies to Kamui and to my team. The team deserves better from me. Best wishes, Lewis."

Obviously this won't go over well here but this is my personal opinion. Lewis' problem is that he drives like he is the only one on the track and everybody else should just get out of his way. Saw it happen with Maldinado in Q1 as he barged through the final chicane as if there were not already 3 cars there (and i'll give it to everyone here that Maldinado had no business going after Lewis after the session ended, probably should have been DQ for the rest of the weekend). KK had as much right to that piece of track as Lewis, regardless of whether he was going to re-pass Lewis or not. Lewis moved into KK, not the other way around. You want the track, get there first.

Flame away

On a side note, I think the whole rule regarding causing an avoidable collision, or at least the enforcement, is rediculous. Leave these guys alone and let them race.

that tabloid website isn't saying nice things to please a Japanese TV station are they :D

the points given by PlanetF1 are valid, stating the obvious is logical after all.

How about stating that hes a matter of a few points behind Schumacher in the standings.

Or stating that in his first and second race he kept Jenson Button and Kimi Raikonnen at bay respectively, in a toyota.

Or that he makes overtaking look easy, getting past anyone he wants to.

Or that hes outscored Heidfeld, Perez and De La Rosa, the only three teammates hes ever had sure but hes beat them all nonetheless.

Or that he can qualify 17th on a race based setup at a track like hungary and still finish in the points.

Or that hes equally adept at racing strategically as he is at racing toe to toe for position.

Or that in only his first race he overtook a Kers powered ferrari into turn 1 of brazil and made it stick.

(Had to edit this twice now to add things in) Or overtaking Buemi in Valencia of all places on the final corner from about 30 metres back

Or overtaking Alonso in a Ferrari in Valencia likes its nobodies business.

Why are they not mentoning these things, a few poxy incidents of which one Hamilton took full reponsibility for, saying sorry for ruining Kobayashis race, and yet PlanetF1 still find its his fault, thats what you call biased.

Face it dude, you either know nothing about talent in F1, or youve added Koba to your hate list cause he has touched Lewis' car in a race.
#272160
Wow what a magnificent list you provided, He is a 10 times champ in the making! You have been right all along... :hehe: Sorry Fraf KK is nothing more than an alright driver.
Hamilton was not fully to blame though, so what he said on twitter post race, it was nothing more than a PR statement. Lewis made a mistake in thinking Koby wasn't on the outside but he was definitely not 100% to blame! His mistake was a simple mistake because most normal drivers wouldn't have been there under brakes! Koby is not a normal driver!
Kamui also said after the race he wasn't fighting Lewis and wasn't trying to get his place back which is a blatant lie because he tried to take the place back he did not yield like he suggested he was fighting for the spot and he was in a spot no normal driver would have been.

To be honest Fraffy, I've seen quite a few posts (not on here) saying that Plantet F1 isn't the best site and the forums are wild territory but I've never had much of a look at it so it may just be a disgruntled user. If you go to Total F1 you get all the main headlines from several sites. Autosport is one of the best to go for accurate stuff that's bang up to date.

I don't go on the forums there but posts from users about stories are pretty anti Hamilton, you'd probably like it there :hehe:
