WHAT A RACE!

NICO ROSBERG! Nobody else on the current F1 grid has deserved a victory more than that man and he's finally achieved it!

What a season this is shaping up to be! So far it's not the bore-fest that was last year. Three different races, three different winners from three different teams. It's what Formula 1 should be.

McLaren's are consistent again and are where they need to be. That long straight is a big feature of this circuit and the Mercedes cars are the fastest in a straight line.
Rosberg said to Lewis, "I don't know where that came from..." It was surprising considering we all though the Mercedes' would eat through their tyres but Rosberg somehow made a 2-stopper work.

Hamilton leads the World Championship on 45 points, with Button in second on 43 points. Lewis is proving his point - consistency is key. Yes, he's had three 3rd places in a row but if he keeps finishing on the podium then the title could well be his. If he screws up like he did last year then it won't happen.

The Sauber's lack of pace surprised me and Michael Schumacher can't finish a race. Again.

Again, well done Nico and only a week to go until Bahrain now! Thinking the McLaren's will be strong if no mistakes are made but who knows this year, eh? :D

Hammer, before that stop Button started to set much faster laps than Lewis, that's why they pitted him... Clear now?

No, the gap was consistent between 2.4 and 2.6seconds. Hamilton wasn't going backwards which was why I was surprised they brought him in then.

The lap before he pitted they clearly said that Button was much faster than Rosberg and Hamilton... Hamilton's tires were worn more than Button's.

Also, it's good to see Sky Sports F1 using their 24-hour channel properly. The program for the race started at 6:30am, it's just gone 11am and it's still going! They're using their virtually unlimited time-slot properly, unlike Australia and Malaysia. Keep it up for the rest of the season, Sky! Awesome coverage; I can't get enough of Formula 1 at the moment! :D

Was also funny to see Martin Brundle walk past Lee McKensie from the BBC and David Coulthard from the BBC during his grid walk! :hehe: We also got a shot of Eddie Jordan and Coulthard congratualting Nico Rosberg during his post-race celebrations with his team. :hehe:

Instant classic. Congrats to Nico, Norbert, Ross, and the entire Mercedes operation, and to everyone else for a great show.

Hope the results stand. . . .

Nico and Lewis would be a great pairing -- but only if things don't work out at McLaren.

I was thinking this as well. Maybe Lewis should try and head to the Merc seat next year.

If anyone was following McLarens strategy, could someone explain to me the logic where they brought Hamilton in for the 2nd stop and that put him right back behind 2 slower cars? Then 2 laps later, Button was brought in and he comfortably got out ahead and was sprinting away. The gap between both drivers before the stop was 2.5 seconds, when they cleared the traffic it was 14 seconds. I'm confused.

:headshake: Dont start me on pitstops!! Im trying to put it out of my head!!. Agree on the merc thing, Ive been saying that for sometime...I think he'd work great with Brawn.....as you say only if Mclaren doesnt work out. See how the rest of the year pans out.

What on earth is that supposed to mean? I'd like to see ANY driver finish a race with three wheels... Neither of Schumacher's retirements so far this season have been in any way whatsoever his fault.

Maybe you just worded this very badly, but the way it has been written certainly inicates that you are placing blame at his feet which is patently ridiculous.

2012 is turning out to be a fine vintage year for F1. The last 12 laps or so with 2nd through 7th all within three seconds of each other was insane! Great podium, great to see three different winners and a consistent 3rd place finisher. Would have been great to see Michael in the mix until the end. The performance of the Pirellis and getting the strategy for them right is the single biggest factor in the race.

Nope, wasn't blaming him. It was badly worded. I was blaming his team.

A lot of pressure exists on the guys during the pit stops, even after all of the practice and hard work that they put in. Just unlucky for him but it frustrates me that Schumi can't get any points due to retirements out of his hands.

Overall, an excellent race. Until literally about 5 laps to go I couldn't predict any of the final placings behind Rosberg (who was immense!). Vettel did very well to make the most of his race, especially after finding himself 14th after the first couple of laps. Shame that his tyres just couldn't quite hold on until the end. Another good race from Williams, especially Senna who managed to again make up a number of places and always looked calm (contrary to Maldonado) whenever he was under pressure - glad to see him make a number of people eat their words, as they now have to, regarding his ability. Button coped really well in spite of the position his pit issue put him back into. Finally, very good race from Grosjean and good to see him get some points on the board. :)

He's leading the championship and you're both still whining. The engineers arent good enough? put your CV in if you think they don't know what they are doing :banghead: Covering Webber has been mentioned its a logical reaction so what's the issue?
I'd hate to see the reaction if what happened to Jenson happened to Lewis.

I was gutted for Jens when his wheel stuck(honestly-even though I wanted Lewis ahead of him),but he only lost 6 seconds. Lewis lost far more than that due to inefficient stops in Malaysia. The wheel was an accident not poor strategy.
But yes, despite all Lewis now leads.
