Woohoo! Personal attacks are back in and supported by mods!

There's a difference between personal attacks and good natured banter; what has gone before falls in that category in my opinion so it has been allowed!!!

A few pages from now, I predict myown will say something about babysitting and lock the thread.

It seems I have ruffled a few feathers, first Spankyham and now you Bill; I only lock threads when they get totally out of control or I see it deteriorating into a bitchfest! Don't like the way I moderate the forums or the way I have my own mind and don't feel the need to agree with people just because they think their right? contact an admin.

Easy there big fella. What I wrote falls into good natured banter category. I was goofin on ya....not bitching at you. I couldn't care less how you moderate the forum, or which threads you close. I could have just as easily put DD's name in there...it was a joke.

OK, fair enough, let's put it down to a misunderstanding! Now back to the topic at hand, those cheating bast*rds who use team orders!:P

...inglourious basterds

Oi! I take offense to that. I'm a glorious basterd. Wasn't so glorious today though. Zigged when I should have zagged on the mx track and crashed on a 90 foot double. Nothing broken this time, on me anyway. The yfz is another story. The more I sit at the desk here the stiffer I feel (and not because of racechick this time). Epsom Salt and Cyclobenzaprine to the rescue....

I can't wait to hear from those who were so outspoken ones on this :D
I'm also wondering myown, if you might consider this a little on the "obvious" side :hehe:

"McLaren have admitted their decision to treat Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button as equals may be reconsidered over the course of the Brazilian Grand Prix.

The team had vowed to give Button their "full support" as both drivers chase the title with two races remaining.

But with Hamilton in the stronger position to challenge leader Fernando Alonso of Ferrari, Button may be needed to help out his team-mate on Sunday.

"We'll see what the situation is during the race," said boss Martin Whitmarsh. "

Yes it is obvious, I can't argue otherwise; but that said implementing team orders with two races and 50 points remaining with one driver 42 points off the championship leader is different from using team orders half way through the season with 200pts available, we'll never know what Massa could have done if he had won that race! I have always maintained that I dislike team orders but have less of an issue when it comes to the seasons close when one driver is out of the title race or has little chance of winning! As a Jenson Button fan I would love for him to miraculously retain his world drivers title but we have to be realistic about the situation!

Well you're hearing from me, Ive been pretty outspoken on this. Cant really see what you're getting at here. Jenson has said when he cant win he'll support Lewis but wont take team orders. Also this is the last but one race. This is not a team callously deciding that one driver cannot compete when the season is not even half way through. I find it mindblowing that this is so difficult for some people to grasp.
Alos not sure what your point is with the hypercritical signature

What kind of help is he even going to provide in the 3rd fastest car on the grid? Also consider how much slower he is in the same car than his team mate? I expect Massa, Webber and Alonso to do well at Brazil, challenging them is going to be tough.

Jenson is good in Brazil; his key task this weekend will be to finish ahead of Mark Webber and more importantly Fernando Alonso; if Hamilton is to win this years title he needs Jenson to take points away from his two main rivals, Webber and Alonso; can Jenson do that? I don't know but I think it's doubtful given that he couldn't rise to the championship challenge for himself, Alonso is now the man to beat, Webber is on the back foot a little after his wipeout in Korea!

I still think that they should race each other as normal. Moving over for someone is bad even this late into the season. I can see the point of people that say after a certain point they are out of the championship... But I still want to see an exciting GP, not cars shuffling out of the way of each other.

Why not just have a qualifying session for those in the hunt and everyone else can draw straws for the rest of the points? I watch F1 to watch good racing, not to watch some intangible WDC or WCC that occurs BECAUSE of the RACING.

That's what you want, the teams on the other hand like to maximise their chances at championships. It's like how Jenson won his championship, having a car overall a fair amount faster than anyone else, so he could only be effectively challenged by his team mate, with their only real rivals redbull having reliability problems with Vettel and Webber had a injury.

I kinda agree with spanky on the hypocrite front, Whitmarsh said he wouldn't use team orders didn't he? Said it was ok if the driver made the decision though, but since the Korean grand prix has been putting pressure on Button to make that decision, he won't say it directly, but the message to Jenson is clear, no?

Not really different to what Ferrari did to Massa,

I understand the point about it being later in the season, whereas Ferrari's was earlier, but I think that's a decision for the team to make, its a hard one, when is the right time to favour one over another, if ever? Personally at the time I thought it wouldn't work out, I didn't expect Alonso to suddenly find consistency and drive like a two time world champion again, and thought Massa's confidence would be destroyed so that it would be a net loss for Ferrari as Massa wouldn't be taking points of the other title rivals and Ferrai would slip further down the WCC. But fair play to them, its starting to look like a championship winning call.

It'd be interesting to see if Ferrari complain to the FIA about Red Bull or McLaren using team orders and Webber or Hamilton win the championship a handful of points ahead of Alonso; if they do they would be the bigger hypocrites; calling others hypocrites when they have done the same (potentially if that situation arises).

Hypocrite? Please! If Jenson is in a position that's mathematically out of the title but moves aside for Lewis to keep him mathematically in with a chance at Abu dabi how on earth is that the same as what Ferrari did to Felipe?

You Ferrari lambs are pathetic if you cannot fathom the difference! :banghead:
