makes me laugh that lewis has the lowest fuel load of them all in the bottom 10, everybody else looks to be on a 1 stop except him, so if he can get his car overtaking with the help of his kers i really think a top 10 finish could be on the cards for him

kimi for the win in my opinion though, i can see button nailing a wall or something.

Also, Brawn are favouring Button, no question. Barrichello was clearly the faster of the two drivers, but he's stuck with the slower strategy again. In my opinion, should Brawn look at Barrichello and think, he's been faster, he's our best bet for pole. Fuel him a lap lighter. But they don't, Button has had the optimum strategy 5 out of 5 races. I'd like that explained from Ross.

Huh? Both Brawns have virtually the same amount of fuel on board, so both can have the same strategy - what have you been smoking? If they start working as you suggest, then you can bet your sweet little bum that it would introduce a lot of controversy in the team, especially after Barcelona when RB was ready to walk out...

Oh rly
Here are the fuel weights and the laps each car will stop on:

1. Jenson Button 647.5 Lap 20/21
2. Kimi Raikkonen 644.0 Lap 18
3. Rubens Barrichello 648.0 Lap 22
4. Sebastian Vettel 631.5 Lap 12
5. Felipe Massa 643.5 Lap 18
6. Nico Rosberg 642.0 Lap 17/18
7. Heikki Kovalainen 644.0 Lap 18
8. Mark Webber 646.5 Lap 21
9. Fernando Alonso 654.0 Lap 25
10. Kazuki Nakajima 668.0 Lap 33
11. Sebastien Buemi 670.0* Lap 34
12. Nelson Piquet 673.1* Lap 36
13. Giancarlo Fisichella 693.0* Lap 47
14. Sebastien Bourdais 699.5* Lap 51
15. Adrian Sutil 670.0* Lap 34
16. Lewis Hamilton 645.5* Lap 20
17. Nick Heidfeld 680.0* Lap 40
18. Robert Kubica 696.0* Lap 49
19. Jarno Trulli 688.3* Lap 44
20. Timo Glock 700.8* Lap 51

I find it all a bit strange though. I would think that the front runners would've gone even more aggressive. Say lap 15/16 stops.

Lewis Hamilton will start from the back of the grid at the Monaco Grand Prix after a penalty for changing his car's gearbox.

The Briton wrecked his chances of fighting for victory in Monaco after crashing his McLaren in the first qualifying segment.

Hamilton qualified in 16th position, but his McLaren team has decided to change his car's gearbox ahead of the race, meaning the world champion will get a 10-place grid penalty that will send him to the back of the grid.

"We have collectively decided that we have to change the gearbox, because of damage. So he will be starting from the back," said team boss Martin Whitmarsh.

In terms of his grid position, it doesn't matter, but isn't a gearbox penalty only five places?

I thought so too and that's probably what they meant to say since it results in the same last grid position.

How you can come up with 1-2 laps difference for pitting between JB and RB with only .5kg difference in weight beats me...

Erm, who came up with those lap predictions? They're a little bit all over the place...

haha 100% agree :P come on rubens :)

They appear to be the ones from James Allen's website. The potential difference, I assume, is there because Brawn may have to bring Button in a lap early in order for Barrichello to stay out. Half a kilogram of fuel can't be worth a lap, so that's the only thing I can come up with.
