Sebastian Vettel has no right to complain, says Lewis Hamilton

Vettel described race-winner Nico Rosberg and teammate Hamilton as like "two buses going for a cruise" over the first few laps as they preserved their tyres in the opening stages, backing up the pack.
After starting from the front row, but given their tyre woes during grands prix this season, it was a tactic that worked for Mercedes.
In response to Vettel's dig, Hamilton said: "He has had the fastest car for the last four years, so it's easy for him to say that. He's got it easy.
"We are making our way up, we are learning, growing, improving with a car that has great potential, so I don't agree with him."

What's there not to agree with SV for LH? The Mercedes WERE trundling around like buses - that's all he said. :bs:

It was a sore loser of a comment, so no harm putting the little brat in his place with some well placed words.

Not really, Button, Kimi and Grosjean all mentioned how the front runners were running slow. As did Di Resta and Sutil who said it helped them....

So let me get this straight... Vettel complained they ran a race pace that didn't suit him and his RedBull?

If Vettel and RedBull had qualified on pole they would have had the opportunity to control the pace however they liked.

I don't think it's that the pace didn't suit their cars, they came 2nd and 3rd so it's not exactly hindered them. I think he was more complaining that they were just going slow in general. As did a lot of the field.

I don't really think Mercedes approached the weekend to make it 'easy' for Redbull....hindering them is kind of the point, its why all these teams go racing each other.

Mercedes developed a tactic that would assure them of a win, the the interview illustrates how Vettle is just sore whether he wins or loses, it's just him he can't help it. But at the end of the day his team didn't win and neither did he. But that fast lap I'm sure is a nice consolation prize.

I should go over the the Vettel thread and congratulate him gaining points on every WDC contender, maybe that would help the sour puss.

Correct. It was very clear that Vettel was faster. Had this been at a proper track, I think Vettel would have blasted past the 2 Merc's.

But it wasn't a "proper" track, it was Monaco a challenging street circuit that he was obviously not good enough to rise to the challenge and get his car on pole this year, yeah? But that wasn't going to stop him from complaining about it.

But. If he didn't want to get held up by the Mercs, who were obviously going to be slower due to their high tyre wear, then why didn't he just qualify in front of them......?

No one claimed him to be the sharpest knife in the box anyway.

Especially when the driver in front does a double move to defend from being overtaken like LH did at least once.
