Anyone else ever grown their hair long then got it cut short in one go? THAT felt weird!

This evening i have been trying to help my bro find a car on the net. It's Saturday night FFS  At least we've got beer and tunes on the go.

Did he find one he wanted?

Well we were just trying to find him a good VFM car under £800 or so... with that in mind it's not really 'want' it's more 'that one is ok and will run well without crapping itself and costing a load of money' :hehe: I just found him a list of stuff to ring about. No joke half the list were Honda Civics :P

Found this Suzuki Alto that seems legit for VERY little money. If he doesn't buy it, it's seriously so cheap i might buy it myself cause i think i could sell it on immediately for profit. £400, great nick, just had a service less than 1k miles ago, tax and MOT ok, about 80k on the clock.

Today:

- Unlocked, Rooted & flashed Paranoid Android ROM with Franco Kernel on both my Google LG Nexus 4 and Google Samsung Nexus 10 devices. (Phone: 15 hours total battery time, 4 of which were screen-on time; Tablet: 14 hours total battery time, 3 of which are screen-on time and I still have 35% battery left.)
- Rewired some ethernet connections providing two of the media computers (computers behind the TV's) with internet, aswell as giving the TV and their respective digital/freeview on-demand boxs internet access via the use of a switch (in the lean-to room) and for the lounge I put in a 4 port wireless n access point/switch which boosts/extends the Wi-Fi throughout the house.
- Thrown out loads of junk, including my old computer tower (removed the HDD + ram, just incase anyone needs)
- Currently in the process of completely tidying my room with music on loud :)

That's pretty much it... yah :/

My last Honda civic I paid 150 quid for it (well 180 because the bloke had just put £30 of fuel in it) it had 200k on the clock and 1 week mot. I only really needed a car for a week and did not care about what happened to it. So I drove it for a week and thought it still felt solid and no major knocks or bangs so I took it down the MOT center with the view of maybe selling it on. Anyway the guy came back and said it had two advisories because a brake light was out and that the front pads where a bit low. I drove the car in the end for 2 years and did about 40k in it. Apart from the usual oil, pads, discs etc it never let me down or missed a beat.
It also returned high 30's economy

Don't worry RC, I understand enough of what Hyflex said for both of us... the short answer, he made his phone and tablet go faster by magical trickery!

And played with those usually blue cables that plugs in the back of computers, which bring the internet via the internet dongle thingie!

Yesterday, I attempted to log into my new Cisco Linksys N750 router, which I had not touched since initially setting it up two weeks ago and I can't, I enter my password, click login and nothing happens; and I mean literally nothing, no activity, no indication of an incorrect password.

I call up Cisco Linksys tech support, they immediately want my life story, I give them the information they requested, then the rep says "I cant hear you very well, can I call you back", I agree and she calls me back. Immediately after calling me back; she starts trying to sell me an extended support package. I refuse, telling her I just wanted to able to access the router config. We go through the motions of the usual troubleshooting crap, which I had already done, given that I am a former network admin.

The rep suggests that I unplug the WAN Ethernet cable; I refresh the admin page and it allows me to log in, but of course all the multiple devices on the network stopped working because of no net connection. I make it clear that this is not an acceptable solution and she becomes very condescending saying "it's only unplugging one cable for 30 seconds". At this point I had enough, telling her I don't appreciate her tone, quickly following up with I'll just box the router up and return it to the store before hanging up. What unbelievably bad customer service.

I did return the router and exchanged it for a Western Digital N900; which seems to be all good, I have logged in and out a dozen times now and it's still allowing access without disconnecting from the Internet!

Phew!!!! :thud: I did see some of your troubles on twitter but wasn't sure what it all meant. But the thought went through my head. 'THIS is why I'd buy a computer already with all the bits on it'. :hehe:
But I do feel for you. We've had loads of hassle just changing broadband form O2 to BT, unbelievable nonsense! Each provider saying the other one has to do something, yet they can't talk to each other :banghead:

Anyway glad your problems sound like they're resolved now.

Ahaha, yes but not via internet dongles basically connecting two routers to give more connections essentially.

I am extremely nerdy so internet, tech...etc is all pretty easy for me.
