indeed, they're insisting on tightening up the grid which goes hand in hand in preventing teams making advantages, in which other sport are the rules changed so much? Not to mention the refuelling ban next season.

TBH I dont enjoy F1 like i used to. i dont bother to watch many of the races either.

Yep pretty boring race. Vettel drove perfectly, but thats what he's good at if he gets to the front and he did have the bast car today(why does that guy annoy the pants off me )

Lewis did well as a rookie round a tricky circuit without KERS for some of the time. Nice to see Kovi make a move in anger even if it was only for 11th. Brawns looked nothing, it wont be an impressive champion methinks.
Fisi faired a little better and Kimi drove well. Trulli ace! Thats about it I reckon.

Qualifying was far more exciting than the race; hats off to Vettel though; that kid shined.

P.S. I hope his manager hints to him that he should keep his post race interview comments down to a minimum of 10,000 words. </sarcasm>

Overtaking was good at Australia, Malaysia and thats about it.

The double diffusers ruined the overtaking, back at the start when only 6 cars had them, the cars could follow a lot closer. But the diffuser just ruined the clean air again

i agree, the double diffusers loophole means that we have not seen the desired effect of the regulation changes this year, largely because the regulations were not well constructed enough to avoid the teams immediately finding ways round them

Strangely enough, Australia is always extremely good for overtaking. One glance at the track and you'd think its impossible, but there's 3, maybe 4 very realistic places to overtake.

But maybe that's just because its early in the season and there's less little aero bits on the cars, that are affected by turbulence. Who knows.

I think the low grip levels, the high rate of driver error owing to it being the first race and the setup compromises that result from opening the season at a street circuit contribute to the overtaking at Melbourne. we shall see if Bahrain is as good for this next year...

Sure you won't get overtaking after overtaking (F1 never has had that) but you might get some improvement.

That's a good point. However do you reallly seeee F1 going back to manual gearboxes? Im not against them, infact i've love it - but look at most motorsports around the world. The main classes rarely use them nowadays

That's a good point. However do you reallly seeee F1 going back to manual gearboxes? Im not against them, infact i've love it - but look at most motorsports around the world. The main classes rarely use them nowadays

Correct. However, because a lot of those also use spec cars (to some extent at least) the need for mistakes is lessened by the fact that nobody's car is a second a lap quicker/slower than anyone else's. It's more down to the driver than the car.
