Maybe everyone overlooked the pace of the Williams...

That time, along with Button's and Piquet's, was set on a qualifying simulation run.

i'm kinda hoping on thursday we see a few Mclaren simulation runs and there mid-low 1.17 and everyone just shits themselfs.

i don't think people would s*** themselves, more like:
'Took you long enough for an epically funded, prestigious super-team/pseudo manufacturer hybrid equipped with the services of the reigning World Driver's Champion! Nice of you to show up.'

Exactly... they appear faster than the Renault's in that basis, which no one quite expected them to be i think.

This is Nelson, mind you. He and Alonso are generally a couple of tenths apart.

Good job by Nico today, even though he put it in the wall in the afternoon, but that's not all bad as Nico will have found the limit of the car, and it could have gone faster. Because of the lost track time fixing up the FW31 the team are allowed the option of continuing to use Nico for some time tomorrow before Nakajima takes over.

Heh, you i guess you're right there, knowing Piquet we can probably ascertain that his lap time is only Q1 standard... :hehe:

If this was the 80's I'm not sure Piquet's laptimes would be even Pre-Qualifying standards. :D

He wouldn't even meet Perry McCarthy's PQ standard for Andrea Moda. :hehe:

Drop it? That's the way things end up in the world of business. Loyalty is rewarded.

Regardless, McLaren and Ferrari spend roughly the same amount of money each year, so your argument is totally irrelevant. :/
