I'll just leave this here to bring it back to topic. :drink:

But to be fair, Schumacher had a s*** car. Lewis has a fairly decent car. So there is no real comparison.

This time last year Nico had 31 points. He currently has 14. And he isnt half the driver he was this last year.

Nico's points haul is half because of two retirements, not because of his driving. Mercedes have two capable drivers and a fast car, they just don't have the ability to make the tires last. If they get on top of the tire situation, they'll be a tough team to take points away from.

I agree. And Schumacher had 7 DNFs last year. The point I was trying to make to Hammer is, you cant compare how the drivers did last year at Mercedes to how they are doing this year. Its isn't a straight and fair comparison.

See that's where you went wrong. You're trying to make a point against a meme with reasoned logic that's, that not how the internet works. :hehe:

Spanky when you and I were first on board I wasn't getting along with you very well, now we understand our respective points of views. It happens all the time.

I think they both today have a profound respect for one another that clearly maturity, eagerness, pride, and maybe fear did kept them from being able to appreciate in their short time together at McLaren. As for the pairing, as great as that would be, I think the sport, is best served by two teams fighting with great cars and great drivers.

PS, I'm a better driver than you.

Perhaps, but I get all the girls :)

How many points did Schumacher score compared to Rosberg in that period

For the season? Rosberg scored 93.

Looking at the results, and from my quick count though, (including retirements) they both beat each other 10 times in the season

Just as the only way to compare schumacher and lewis is that rosberg is the only constant

Different cars and different seasons, so it is still comparing like durians and mangoes, or what’s the saying.

For example:

At Benetton Giancarlo Fisichella was 11th with 8 points compared to 17th Jenson Button with 2 points.

A few years later rookie Heikki Kovalainen was 7th at Renault (same team basically) with 30 points compared to the same Italian
Giancarlo Fisichella 8th with 21 points.

Would you claim that Kovalainen is better than Button based on that?

The results to date speak for themselves, and will likely continue to speak for themselves. Whether there is a coincidence in his arrival at Mercedes and their resurgence can be debated and picked apart but the intangible thing is that there are very few drivers in the sport today, that a team can rally behind, be inspired to to their best work for and give their utmost effort to because they know that driver can make the difference.

Lewis happens to be one of them.

Gorgeous gorgeous dog!!! He likes to play with Lewis.

Or maybe Lewis is starting to insist he earns his keep and is auditioning him for the Andrex adverts, he's way cuter than the Andrex puppy! :hehe:
