Thanks mate
. It is really starting to sink in now that I'm only 8 weeks away from graduating and hopefully my initial application will go well with the dept I am applying with next week. Thanks for all the kind words and support.

Thats awesome tex, hope you do well. I vowed into the US Army last friday and I ship out for basic training on June 1st, so I can't wait to leave.
Thats awesome man and I'm certain you will learn to love it
and they will pay for your education aswell
. If you decide on a career in law enforcement after, unless your career up, your a shoe in yet if you career up you will be able to retire at an age most people can only dream about.
I just returned home from the ASP Baton class and man am I sore and my chest will be black and blue tomorrow!! Talk about a great workout and we also learned some very persuasive self-defense techniques. All the mechanics or arrest and wrist/arm locks we have learned along with the baton are non-lethal defense techniques because the final tech is deadly force ie our firearms.
Riv I'm proud of you man you are doing something that I as a future police officer can truelly understand and appreciate
, stay safe above all.

Thanks for the kind words tex. I thought about Law enforcement too, but I don't think its really for me. My uncle tried to convince me to go the law enforcement route (he used to be a detective and his son is a deputy down in LA), but I went the military route instead because they pay for your college as you said and I just felt that having military experience would be a good thing to have under my belt.
Thats so cool what you're learning though, it makes me anxious to leave for Basic training already. I can't wait to learn everything at my training. My MOS is Fire Support Specialist (aka Artillery Observer), but I'm really looking forward to Airborne school.

well done mate. I have a lot of respect for people like Tex and yourself who are willing to put your life on the line for the greater good. There is not many of us around. I have been in the British armed forces for 13 years and I still love it every day.
Thanks Jabberwocky. Dang man 13 years in the armed services thats really admirable. I signed for 4 years active duty so it should be a great experience. I don't know if its the same in the UK, but over here you can retire after 20 active years in the military. Is that what you're planning on going for?
