Didn't know he works at Vous Beauty Salon in LA. :hehe:

And no, no, no on the monkey Tennis, (that's DD's idea) my idea is Seinfeld funny, a show about nothing.

Today our SUV got smashed into by a dozy :censored: pushing a shopping cart, putting a six inch crack in the front passenger side door; then tried to blame my wife who was almost stationary for the collision! Of course because the damage was caused by a cart and not a vehicle, her insurance company won't pay out and the police refused to come out to resolve the issue.

I had something like that when I backed up into a shopping trolley once...exact mark, and an ugly crack and I felt like my world had ended. :hehe:

But it turns out, a body shop is able to rectify it with some paint and cement (you can't tell it happened when the jobs done) for a mere rm120...that's like USD40.

It is just the annoyance if it.. to be honest my landy has a few marks where it has been off road and into hedges etc. It gives it caracter but will jist get them as a job lot when it goes to a new home

it depends, sometimes it does give the car character, other times it gives you agita.

I have cleaned it up somewhat; it doesn't look as bad now but it still has a crack, my worry is that the crack will get worse over time, we are in the middle of moving home right now so there is no money to allocate to fixing the crack. Hopefully, it'll be as easy to fix as Hammer suggests; but i guarantee it won't be $40; here in the US; you get overcharged and stiffed every single day!

My biggest annoyance is the cart wielding loony tried to blame my wife, claiming she was speeding; while she was almost stationary in a drive-thru lane!

Put a piece of clear packing tape over it to protect it from water getting in and you'll be fine short tern until you get it fixed. I'm assuming if it's 'plastic' that it's some sort of Saturn vehicle?

As far as the guy claiming it's your wife's fault, he clearly hit it in the middle of the vehicle not at the ends, so that blows his argument. You can't go after his car insurance but you could file take him to small claims court for the damages. (probably not worth the time you'll have to put into it) to get him to pay for the 400 bucks or so to patch and respray the door.

We have plenty of packing tape hanging about, given that we are moving next week; yes it's a Saturn so it is made of plastic, which in a way is a saving grace and I can probably buy the door panel and install it myself, it's only held on by hex screws.

I don't need the additional hassle of legal cases at this time; and it was a her, not a him... accidents happen but trying to shift the blame is unacceptable, personally if I was responsible, I'd first of all apologize then offer to pay for the damage; but it seems that not many people have any honour these days!

Our previous car was written off two years ago by a driver who was on a cell phone and rear ended us at a stop sign. He claimed brake failure, and the police didn't investigate that either!
