Some people seem to be attributing SV not winning to his early race mistake. Even if he hadn't made that mistake, I think Jenson would have had him sometime during the race.

Vettel would not have passed Webber, he was pumped up and annoyed he was on the 3 stopper and could easily have wiped them both out, good move by Redbull i'd say. JB was fastest today by a mile anyway, regardless of Vettel's mistake he was never going to get far enough ahead of JB to have a chance of winning.

Cant wait for Silverstone 8-)

Another dominant victory for Jenson, fantastic drive and result for Webber, Vettel had the pace in quali but his race pace from the start was off and he was lighter on fuel than Jenson, Rubens could have very well made it another BGP 1-2 if not for that incident which I consider his fault.

Its :bs: that Red Bull is favoring Vettel over Webber.

But RBR aren't favoring SV - they're doing what's best for the team at the moment, hence them telling Vettel to cool it and stay behind Mark.

Anyway, a disappointing race for Vettel, but more for Barichello and Fisi.
Well done to Button, blablabla lol. I say the same thing about him every week now XD That car is just awesome in his hands.

I'm not sure Vettel would have passed him, had he been allowed.
I mean he couldn't pass Jenson.

I dont think he'd have got past. he's not good at overtaking and Webber is a strong defender. It may have ended in tears and wasnt worth the try.

Yeah. I wouldn't say "he's not good at overtaking" but agree with the otehr 2 points.

Yeah - the Red Bull team have admitted that the car is crap in dirty air. Which is why I was a little confused when they kept Vettel on the three-stop, knowing he'd have to get past Button at some point, but I guess it was worth a try, since they still ended up with a 2/3 :)

Oh, I forgot to add in my first post - and Johnathan Legard's commentary REALLY annoyed me in this race.

Vettel had no hope in this race. It was a good race by him and Mark, despite that mistake by Vettel, but still Jenson was in another league.

I think Red Bull is doing a great job at managing both the drivers. Vettel had the strategy which favoured his driving and abilities and Mark had the strategy that suited him. In the end, Mark's strategy was better his drive was flawless and he was faster than Vettel near the end... dont see it as Red Bull not allowing Vettel to pass, unless the championship depended on that pass, there was not much to do...

Vettel himself is not inherently BAD at overtaking, I think what racechick is getting at is that Vettel hasn't had much luck at it this year, which we could possibly attribute to the car. It's apparently unusually sensitive to turbulent air.

2009 F1 Turkish Grand Prix: Jenson Button WINS
What a race!! As predicted it was a fierce battle between Jenson Button (Team Brawn) and Sebastian Vettel (Team RBR-Renault).
Jenson Buttons totaly Pawns the rookie Sebastian Vettel .
Who thinks Sebastian Vettel mistake on the 1st lap on turn 10 was a rookie mistake?
I do.

He just could have hand the pole position to Jenson in the first place

Vettel is no rookie and has won two GP's yet he would have been passed by Button before the end of the first lap. Vettel just did not have the pace of Button who was on a heavier fuel load.
