I have to say watching this exercise in self-laceration and self-flagellation among the McLaren and LH fans is quite entertaining :whip:
Let's hope this doesn't become an endless saga that will dominate the entire season though - there are other and more enjoyable things to discuss!
*shuffles off to the Pit Babes section* :P

No pics of Felipe Massa's arse in there mate! :P

:(
Maybe somebody could help out?:whip:

Have any of you stopped to think for a second that maybe Mclaren's management isn't doing anything to punish Hamilton, because he was just doing what he was told to do? How does this concept escape you people, is it lack of common sense? I love the way everyone assumes they actually know more about the situation than Mclaren's management team. Without a doubt Hamilton was wrong and should have shown more character in front of the Stewards, he's dropped down quite a few pegs in my book for this scandal, but everyone here acts likes he was totally on his own when coming up with this lie. Mclaren has given Hamiliton a fairy tale life for a driver and millions of dollars a year. What would make you think that he wouldn't do exactly what he's told? Mclaren's management is to blame for this scandal.. Mclaren knows it, FIA knows it, The Hamilton's know it.

There is a part of that argument that makes no sense to me. Hamilton was just doing what the team told him to do? Did they also tell him to hold a press conference where he abused his team? Did they ask him to act like such a self centered git after they poured hundreds of millions of dollars into his race career?

McLaren has had plenty of reasons since Hamilton came on board to be upset with his performance...have they ever aired that to the press? Have they ever threatened to fire him unless he quit making stupid mistakes? No they have not, and yet they have a couple of poor performances and made one stupid mistake and he goes off on them in the press? Did their mistake cost him a championship like his beaching his car in pit lane, hitting the pit speed button etc cost them? The man is an ungrateful brat and McLaren quite frankly deserve better after they flushed Alonso for this punk and took his many mistakes without complaint. As soon as everything isn't going his way he starts making public threats to leave. What a douchebag.

yes in hindsight McLaren could have won the last two championships with Alonso winning 4 in a row leaving them to start development on their 09 car earlier last year and this years car not being as slow.

Hamilton has been given alot he needs to give some back and shut up.

Yeh its alright saying he could of.

But he didn't in 2007 and he might not of in 2008 but Lewis did.

And like i've said all this stuff about him quiting might be BS its obvious the media are trying to imply that.

I think it's fair to say that Alonso probably would've taken the 2008 championship in the MP4-23. And given the amount of mistakes Ferrari made, a lot sooner than Lewis did, in my opinion.

I didn't see any mention of Hamilton saying he "might" leave due to the car's performance, can you post a link for your speculation? I think the reasoning behind him making that statement is due to the way the team is presently being managed. Yes he made a rookie mistake that lost the championship in 2007, but considering all the Spy-gate crap going on around him and the problems Mclaren's management was having dealing with that scandal, and Alonso, I would say they should be more than happy with his 2007 ROOKIE performance. You're totally right about mistakes costing the championship IF he had better advice at Spa last year maybe it wouldn't have come down to the last race. What I think is funny is that everyone that wants to see Hamilton gone from Mclaren Is basically saying the same thing that I'm saying and that is the same issue that Hamilton is having , "Mclaren upper management is making stupid mistakes". You see it in the way they treated Alonso, I see it in the way they handle the Stewards and FIA. and Hamilton sees an insiders view that you and I couldn't even imagine.
Explain to me how a mention that Hamilton will "consider leaving Mclaren" ( once again I didn't see a "threat" anywhere) makes him a "douchebag" . When in 2007 Alonso was making "threats" to leave if he didn't get preferential treatment and he's a great man for that? I think he's a whiney baby that couldn't get to grips with the reality of a rookie being faster than him. Your statement sounds like a huge Contradiction to me.

For all you "AlONSO" fans that Hate Hamilton (big surprise) and continue to question his loyalty, while waving the "Alonso is Great" flag please explain to me how Hamilton's saying he "may" leave Mclaren makes him a twat. When Alonso did leave the team that gave him a WDC to chase more $$$ make him such a noble man. Alonso totally walked out on Renault when things weren't going his way even if they were treating him so well. That's not speculating that's fact.
If Alonso was such a great Driver, team player and car developer than why didn't he stick around at Renault and develop the team to be a championship team? That's what Schumacher did with Ferrari? Instead Alonso's saint like Nobility and extreme driver ability had him jump ship as soon as things weren't going his way. He did it with Renault, and with Mclaren, and according to the latest news he'll do it to Renault again to go to Ferrari. Even when Renault last year saved him from driving a Force India car.

Last time I checked FA announced his switch to McLaren while fighting and winning the 2006 championship in a Renault, so things were going quite well at Renault...

So I guess the fact that he left a winning team for more cash makes him a better man? It makes him totally ungrateful and on the same level as Hamilton (or any other driver for that matter).
