McLaren will be fine; they are always there or thereabouts; Mercedes are a complete unknown with all the changes being made; 2013/14 will be telling for Mercedes. Now that the deal for LH to move to Mercedes is done; I had hoped that all this anti-McLaren/Button talk would subside but it seems that some just can not let go... bring on the new season so we can talk racing!

But you don't mind the anti Lewis talk, right?

Let's be honest, you bring up Lewis at every opportunity.

I don't much care for the trash talking of LH or any driver for that matter; if there is constructive commentary, that's fine but repetitive non constructive commentary; e.g bashing a driver just because a person happens to dislike them is ridiculous, you; yourself only ever come on to big up Lewis or write derogatory statements against Jenson or try to pick holes in my posts!

I will write about Lewis when it is relevant; and I refuse to apologise for that fact; if you truly read my posts; you'll know I also write negative things about Button when he has a poor performance or says something I disagree with; and also will say good things about Lewis when he does something to warrant it like win a race or grab pole or say or do something sensible!

It's an opinion I guess, a view shared by many for Lewis fans on here. Whom which seem to be taking control of the place hostile takeover styles. From moderators down to forum members! Lewis is the precious everyone else is s*** seems to be the way to think here.

If all those quotes sound like 'opinions' to you, might as well re-learn the english language to understand what racechick is talking about. I mean, what a way to defend your argument.

Habla englais? ich kann nicht sprechen englisch!
The message he was saying was clear, if it hit too close to home for RC and other Hamilton fans bad luck, if saying someone is black when they are black is wrong then what's the point of being right? :banghead:

What he said was not true and it was indeed personal attacks. You'd like what he said to be true just because you agree with it, it doesn't make it the truth, sorry. Bang your head till you bleed if you want.

Enough; you've both expressed your opinions; let it go and move on, if this continues; this thread will be placed under lock and key!

Where was he attacking? He was just making an observation...

"You are bitter and fanatical"
" you have no logical switch in your brain"
"You can't start a god dam Sentence without being partisan"
"You're sad and pathetic"
" someone like you should not be a moderator"

Pretty personal attacks I'd say.

It's a good thing I'm just reading this..., would have loved to have been here it when it happened. But as I'm trying to stay out of McLaren/Button discussions, just came across it. This one deserved a true response, and I would have given him one. Hey Killem2, quite the tough guy, when dealing with a sweety like RC (granted, I don't know her, but)...,

You are great RC.

Remember that question you asked back at the beginning? I guess I am, as it turns out.

PEACE, whenever possible.

Just look at the title, and it's clear it was always going to go down a slippery slope here. Looks like this thread will be following the Mercedes one soon...

I think Button has his best chance since 2009, and will ever have again , to win the world championship this year. Why?

a) he no longer has one of the top three, ( probably the fastest over one lap) drivers as his team mate

b) he has the car that finished last season fastest and the rules have remained stable

c)the car has been designed specifically for him and his needs

d) since Mclaren took themselves out of the championship fight early last season, they will have been able to concentrate on 2013 for longer( than Ferrari and Red Bull who were fighting till the end)

e) the pirelli's have promised a wider operating window, thus eliminating one of Buttons weaknesses, that of getting his tyres up to heat quickly

f) he's not getting any younger

So, much to be pleased about for McLaren and Button fans. The gods could be smiling this year. Of course you can never discount Alonso and Newey ( I would add Lewis, but not for the championship this year)

I think you are forgetting about one Sergio Perez. Whilst Button has a team mate who is fast and can drive round problems i cannot see him been able to extract enough out of a car over the season.

Even at Brawn, he was lucky that his team mate the oldest man on the grid at the time had well defined problems early in the season. In the latter part of the season Reubens was qualifying at the front whilst Button was struggling. He also outdrove him although the points dont really show that.

Even if the McLaren is the fastest car, (unless by 2 seconds) Button will qualify behind Seb, Lewis, Sergio, Webber, Massa, Grosjean, Nico and Kimi and will win when misfortune befalls others. And there will be the races where the car/track is not to his liking and he scores hardly any points as has happened throughout his career.

A lot of what RC says makes sense...but McLaren need to produce a blindingly quick car to make Button a double WDC. I mean, 2009 was perfect where 3/4 of the grid could've been Champion...and Button struggled to close that out one until the end. McLaren's last year they had a car in similar circumstances was back in 1988. And plus, Perez is no slouch, so Button might hope for Redbull and Ferrari's HQ's to burn for half a year and for Perez to break a leg or something.

Oh I didn't say he'd win it. I said he had the best chance of it he's likely to get since 2009 and for the rest of his career.
