Im not so sure Lewis will. I sense a real despondancy in him, much as was apparent in JPM when he left F1.I wouldnt be suprised at lewis doing something radical.

I can see what you mean. :( Montoya's exit was a both a massive surprise and not a surprise at the same time. What I mean is, Montoya seemed really out of sorts before his departure from F1, but it was still a huge shock to loose one of the big names after only 6 years of competition.

That's why I hope Lewis just takes a step back and has some time to himself after this season has closed so he can re-gather his thoughts and press on with the new year.

I dont know about rest but I think he'll do some serious rethinking. He's not happy, not comfortable, not enjoying racing.

The last time I remember seeing him positive was just before the Belgian Grand Prix, after McLaren looked on good form in the run up to the weekend. We all know what happened then, and he's been in a miserable mood ever since. That accident with Kobayashi was the final straw it seemed for this season.

I hope he doesn't loose his old love for McLaren, because they go together so well, and he's sure to enjoy future success with them if he stays on.

I dont think he and Mclaren do go together very well, not any more. Alonso wont cope with him at Ferrari. Red Bull may be an option but they have Seb and seem to like a number two. I think Mercedes is the only realistic option if he stays in F1.

Realistic only if they have the long-term commitment to F1. That, of course, will depend on their success over the next couple of seasons. You know what the car-manufacturers are like...

I don't know what the big deal is, if not for his puncture I feel he would have been in contention yesterday. Pitting early and being a few laps out out of sequence didn't help plus using his tyres more in traffic.

He just seems to be having bad luck of late, he just needs a trouble free weekend.

Nothing wrong with Hamilton and Mclaren. The only problem has been some mistakes by either, the most notable by Lewis, but that's how it always goes.
Maybe next yr Hamilton is more at ease... he had good pace at most of the races he crashed out.

So who had a worse yr, Hamilton or Massa? hehe

Sebastian aside, Considering Webber Button Alonso and Hamilton are all on or near the 200 point mark while Massa isn't even past 100 yet tells you the answer.

Hamilton's contract expires at end of 2012. Unlike Jenson Button who last week signed a multi-year contract, I don't see Lewis getting a contract extension offer until well into season next year unless he has a year like 2008. I agree racechick, Lewis seems to have lost the plot and it's time to move on.

Oh he'll get the offer, but may not sign it.
