So, last night, me and my housemates (there's 4 of us) got basically ambushed by a bunch of chav arseholes on London Road (that's for Jab's benefit) in Oxford. Two of them started on us, verbally first, no big deal there. We just tried to walk off but they followed us and eventually started to physically try to stop us going anywhere. Not to mention saying racist crap to my German mate.

Then one of em started swinging, and they threw a pint glass at us, etc. As soon as one of us started to fight back... i guess we had stupidly given them what they wanted. They shouted up the road and 4 more of them came out of nowhere. Trying to fight these guys off in the middle of the road, cars beeping (dunno what they were trying to achieve by that!) and everything. THANKFULLY someone called the police and as soon as they showed, these idiots ran off. We talk to the cops for a few minutes, then walk home. But on the way back one of the police cars pulled up, and guess what? Another report of fighting on London Road. Any money says these lot went after another group of people.

These guys were out purely looking for a fight, i have no doubt, and i am sure they were coked up. What the hell is wrong with modern society. All we wanted was to get some more wood for our bloody bonfire!

What's funny though? We were outnumbered 4 vs 6 and yet still none of us have any real damage.

my mate still can not walk or talk after getting done in (In the Britannia, that bit is for Scotty) on xmas eve. His memories of the night is playing on the gambler, waking up in the hospital 2 days later. they had to resuscitate him twice at the scene and another 2 time before the night was over...

Pitty you didn't get the boot in before they ran away. Hanging's too good for folk like them - it's a good kick in the arse they need! At least there were 4 of you. Imagine if they'd picked on 2 people or someone on their own?! Hopefully the police will do their job, catch them and give them an ASBO (ideally they'd be sent to Peterhead prison where they have to share a cell with a 20 stone pervert who's got the horn) which will surely make them change their ways.

Most neds/chavs I've seen are scrawny minkers who look like they'd fall over if you farted at them. No wonder you lot don't have a mark on you!

This lot must have much the same IQ as the bunch of numpties who were stealing cars in these parts for a bit of joyriding and then boasting about it on Facebook! If this is the future of the UKs criminal element then the police are soon going to have it easy.

Yeah they were bloody thick alright. "What ya sayin blad" and all that crap. Scrawny is indeed the same word one of my mates used last night. I got punched in the back of the head by one of them and don't have a bump to show for it. Pretty laughable. I was worried one of them might have a knife though, i was definitely worried about that given the amount of time i spend in Glasgow where i have seen that happen in the flesh (and it isn't nice). In that respect we were lucky.

The police did actually ask us if we wanted to take it to court and so on. We all said no, but i told the cops if they did this to other people, i would happily support any case against em if someone else felt the need to do so, as a witness or whatever the hell. That was my worry afterwards, that they would later try that on a smaller group. Scum.

Don't worry, we got the boot in. One of them was flat out like a starfish at one point

Nah it's usually just drunks you get down there. I see more fights in town myself. I swear these guys just wanted to start a fight the way they acted, nothing more.

Just curious: what's the situation with hooliganism in the UK? Has it improved or is it worse?

has it improved? are you asking from the point of view of the hooligans or the upstanding citizens?

Football wise I think it is better. The FA cleverly introduced the rules of if team A fans cause problems team A gets a ban or fined. So the peer pressure of fans stops it however the professional hooligan just wants a scrape will never go away.

same, hell I feel safer in Swindon, and that's a town with one of the highest violent attack rates in the country.
