swifter action huh, id rather the stewards study and hear both sides before handing out penalties. I dont like stewards meddling at the best of times but if a driver breaks a rule id hope they don't act rash and study the evidence before handing out a penalty whether that be during the race or post race. The SC has always been unfair, the fact Ferrari didnt benefit from a SC is no reason to cry foul and change the rules now!

It's amazing how some people justify things.
If this had happened the other way around, all LH fans would be fuming and calling FA all kind of names.
It's somehow amazing and starting to feel tired of all the crap that get leveled at FA as if he's the worst driver ever (personality wise).
All top notch drivers are in the same boat. We have seen LH, SV, MW, FA complain and whine about almost anything and everything.
But somehow it's only when FA does it, it seems that the skies fall down.

FA did not say that LH deliberately passed the SC. His outrage was towards the SC timing, the stewards and the rules since you can't have the outcome of a race decided by ambiguous rules.
FA could have finished 2nd or 3rd in the race but ended up in 8th because of the SC. That's what his anger is about.
Why should he be fine with such an event that ruined his race and robbed him of points that could decide the WDC.
I have no doubt that LH would be as upset and outraged as FA is.

The safety-car incident.

Hamilton is not to blame. He got his penalty, he did got lucky for the time they took to decide, but it's fair game to him.

However, I understand Ferrari's frustration. They were harmed by following the rules, after all. But it's FIA's problem, not Hamilton's.

With that, I think that the rule obviously needs revision. Closing the pit-lane (as someone said) and entering in front of the leader would be nice additions.

The 5-second penalty was stupid. For that, they were better off doing nothing...

The race? Was bad. As always. It wasn't good. There were three relevant (as in, not involving new teams) overtakes. Two of them because Kobi had new tyres and could easily get past Alonso and Buemi. (the other was Sutil to Buemi, at some point) It's not nearly enough.

If they were to ditch Valencia and Barcelona from the calendar in order to reduce the yawning levels, Spain would have no race there. Is Jerez a good racing track? What other options would they have?

Lewis haters are bleeding through the wounds because he managed to overcome the penalty applied to him thanks to running as fast as a madman and to Kobi's relative slowness.

I think it was Webber who managed to do something similar not so long ago?

Madbrad made sense.

The situation with the SC in Valencia was far from being a racing incident or simple misfortune due to the SC being called out. Its VERY different to get caught by a poor timing of the SC, than to be simply screwed by bad implementation of the SC and the procedures/penalties that occur because of it. The FIA made arses of themselves by not being able to correctly implement a SC. That's it. Has vey little to do with whether it was Lewis or Alonso getting the benefit or damage from the screw up.

hmmm think i heard Alonso say the word "Hamilton" more than the commentators

I heard him say. 'Do nothing else in this race but get on to race control about hamilton.' :yikes: Sod my tyres, strategy, petrol consumption, just get after Hamilton, great idea  he then went on to ask about him frequently till his team had to tell him to cool down and concentrate on the race..and thats just the transmisson we heard!

As I mentioned in another thread...I admire Alonso as a driver--he's one of the best, probably the most complete one. As a person? I'm not so sure. Controversy follows him everywhere.

A pity. He could be a really cool hero.

Maybe that's why I prefer Massa.

If you think about it, the ONLY interest for Alonso was/is to gain pts against Hamilton. He is the championship leader and was the immediate competitor in the race (and the one with the possible position to claim due to the infringement). Really, there was nothing else to do in the race than gain pts on Hamilton.

And as usual, you and yours take that as a personal attack on Hamilton. Why does everything have to be some kind of drama fest with you people? What if Alonso had not said the word Hamilton, and had instead said 'the WDC leader whose points total matters'? Would that sink it into collective fangroup's mind that it's not a personal attack on Hamilton but rather a racer who is in the WDC running trying to make sure the allotment of points for that championship is fair?

No of course it wouldn't. The Hamilton group always needs some kind of demon to cry and whine about. First its the FIA who wants to kill McLaren, now its Alonso. It's like all of you have some sort of 'poor me, I'm a victim' mentality. Oh my god, Alonso complained about what is quite obviously a fukked situation with the safety car....he must hate poor dear Lewis...lets all get together and have a group cry!

Alonso has plenty of reason to be pissed. Every legitimate race fan on this planet can see pretty clearly how Alonso got screwed. He followed the rules and lost 6 places...while the guy who broke the rules lost nothing. If you seriously can't see the problem with that, and why Alonso was worried about how many points Hamilton gets from that race...then seriously, you can't be helped. Points add up, and WDC's have been decided by as little as ONE point....it matters.
