Well, with you've misrepresented my views, questioning my loyalty to McLaren in doing so, on several occasions.

The bit mcLaren fan just added to his post. The fact that he largely blames hamilton for McLaren's demise.

I don't largely blame Hamilton. I blame Hamilton and the senior management. But you're so blinded with your adoration of Hamilton, you can't think straight.

How am I not thinking straight? You're full of the compliments of late.

lol ... ya he surprised me big time too but I think his close friends is mocking him and that making him mad. I dont blame him for taking a stand. his team embarrassed him to no end. things like this normally makes even the most loyal fans get pissed off. Chris ... you not smoking something are you ??

I have to say watching this exercise in self-laceration and self-flagellation among the McLaren and LH fans is quite entertaining :whip:
Let's hope this doesn't become an endless saga that will dominate the entire season though - there are other and more enjoyable things to discuss!
*shuffles off to the Pit Babes section* :P

Like you, Fact Man, I am getting disillusioned with McLaren because of Hamilton. There have been rumblings of his getting preferential since 2007, but I was always prepared to cut the team some slack, given Hamilton's relationship with McLaren. In 2007, Alonso was no angel, but I suppose I'll cut him a little more leeway than I used to. But now things have reached a tipping point. If there's one thing that's really annoyed me about this scandal, it's not the actual offence itself, as it was fairly venial, in the sense that this kind of thing has been going on for ages, and there were mitigating circumstances. What I am deeply disappointed at is McLaren's bending over backwards to protect Hamilton. Some great people have taken are going to take the bullet for him, and Hamilton himself is one of those shooting at them. Hamilton should be allowed to leave, the management should wise up about Hamilton, or the management should be completely replaced. Also like you, Fact Man, I want the old McLaren back from when I started watching Formula One. The days when McLaren had the best drivers on the grid and allowed them to race one another and didn't give any of them special employee status. Following McLaren from 2007 onwards has really been like following another team.

I have been saying that for 2 years and some "people" used to get mad at me. I honestly don't have a problem with Hamilton. I think I'll like him if he were driving for another team. It's the unconditional support that he gets from Mclaren that's amazing.

Why did they find the need to lie so that they can get him an extra point? Risk the whole team for one driver! Would they do the same to Heikki, I doubt it. They lied at the 1st meeting knowing that Hamilton gave an interview and that the Stewards can get access to the radio data and yet they didn't feel the need to correct themselves at the second meeting. But why lie in the 1st place to get LH an extra point.

I would not call this debate self-flagellation but self-rectification  People are waking up to the truth and want change

I totally agree with you, there is no logic to 1 point? it has darkened there image and made me doubt them. This season they have the stewards against them. Last season it was Ferrari and the year before that for stealing their data. It is not looking good for them.
