Huh? No one knows what LH could've done after Rosberg retired....his only competition from then on was his gearbox. If he chose to lose half a second or 3 seconds per lap from then on, no one knows what the story is except Mercedes.
What is telling is the pace they had after the 2nd restart....Button was somewhere in the 'horizon' after just 7-8 laps.
Light years when you factor in 26 laps worth of fuel.
not really: who knows what the lap times were for SV around lap 26? So, you need to provide more info.
I understand the math in your argument but you can't defy the laws of physics in factoring in the weight it takes to run the car for half a race distance. So I doubt the Red Bulls were putting in the same time with about 50 more kilos of fuel on board.
True, but there's also the factor of preserving tires, saving fuel, etc., at different times during the race.
In your logic, LH should have been cruising at 1:36 lap times towards the end of the race, but he didn't for good reasons.

Breaking News:Lewis Hamilton has officially overtaken The Fonz in race wins. With 88 races less. Lol(Without a specially built blown diffuser, illegal front wing, preferential treatment)
