Any news on Vettel overtaking under yellows earlier in the race?
I hope he gets a pitstop added to his time after the race, and Alonso inherits the championship..

What's this about?

Towards the start of the race Brundle was talking about a replay of Vettel overtaking a Sauber coming up the hill towards the pit straight, you can clearly see on the replay that Vettel drives past 3 yellow lights/flags whilst he performed the overtake. But it seems the stewards missed it :banghead:

Good job SV and red bull despite the bad tire call, senna/Webber pulling some stupid crap

Ferrari will have to start cheating earlier next season in order to beat SV

He supposedly passed Koby under yellow. The BBC never picked up on it and the race stewards are usually pretty quick on this sort of thing.

I watched on the BBC and I saw nothing about this at all. Googling around shows nothing. Is this just a rumour?

It was on Sky but the stewards never picked it up. I guess Vettel has the luck of the devil what with that crash and the yellows. But its done now and his the champ.

I heard it in the chatroom.

I would think that if it were for real, that it would be being discussed more. Until I see it from a reliable source, I'm not putting any credence on it.

Pat Fry is talking about it right now on Sky.

I think the light referred to may have been a yellow and red one for slippy surface not a normal yellow one

OK, now I'm a bit more relaxed, so to sum it up:
Vettel had the worst straght line speed, and was starting with his rear wheels on the white line. I knew he would lose positions. Then Senna made an incredibly stupid move, spun Vettel and destroyed his own and Perez's race... But then, that Vettel's helmet started working his magic again. HE WAS FLYING! Amazing moves, so fast up the field, even if the car was damaged, even if the team pitted him for the wrong tires, even if they didn't hear him on the radio, even if they weren't ready with the tires for rain. Faster by a 1.5s in the last laps than anyone, fighting all the way... I'm delighted!!! :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:
Alonso had a good start, was lucky with his rival being hit, was lucky with Hukenberg-Hamilton collision, was lucky with unexplainable penalty for Hulkenberg, but it didn't help! No! :drink::drink::drink:

Just watching Vettel's overtakes, amazing!!!:clap::clap:

More to follow... :D

Congratulations to Vettel. Not the way I wanted it to go, I think he deserved a drivethrough for that collision with Senna, but it appears I am disagreeing with Vlad. See you in my office young man.

Commiserations to Hulkenberg, Hamilton and Kobayahishi.

I don't really have words to say for Alonso. He has been a good contender this year, and just when I am building my appreciation for him, he goes about his usual antics again....

A very well done to Vitaly Petrov what a way to go out. Most importantly, thank you very much to Michael Schumacher, I wish I started following the sport earlier to witness his dominance....

I'll see if I can resist it, but I'm taking a much-needed break from the forum and this sport.... Cya all next year... :drink:

Nope, there were both yellow/red flags being shown for slippery track AND standard yellow flags for an incident on track - which Vettel overtakes under.
This will be interesting to see if anything is done about this :hehe:
