WTF? It's there, on the FIA official statement. What more proof is needed, and why is there even a debate?!?!?!? *facepalm*

It's either trolling, gross stupidity, or clinging to a completely futile hope...

There's no official statement yet on FIA site nor on formula1.com so I guess it's just a troll.

Well, it's official now, Vettel got a time penalty, tho i don't think it will stand.

These sites are always slower to update, and the big F1 news outlets have people at track who will have seen the actual document. FFS i can't even believe i'm having to debate this, so whatever, i'll leave people in denial for now!

Keep in mind that both Hamilton and Alonso did passed while out of the circuit during the Bahrain's GP and both weren't penalized. I guess RB will bank on that .

Luckily this one has categorically and undeniably been resolved now...

Please also bear in mind that the drivers briefing specifically included for THIS circuit, a "Go outside the line, - and you will be penalised" instruction. This was well publicised BEFORE the race commenced. Therefore it cannot have come to anyone's real surprise that the Stewards carried it through.

Who did Alonso pass in Bahrain while going off track? Get your facts straight.

20 seconds sounds fair but then again it cost him more places than I might consider proportionate. I was guessing he would be given a position swap with Jenson. Oh well.

On the podium when Lauda asked him about it, Seb said Jenson never said anything to him about it, then what were they talking about for 5 minutes in the room before the podium ceremony?

Vettel was consistently putting all four wheels off he track while chasing Button. Surprised the stewards didn't have a word with Red Bull before the overtake but maybe they took this into consideration when deciding the penalty. If it was just the once while he passed Button then a reversal of positions may have been sufficient but, given that it was a persistent offence,a drive through equivalent would seem more appropriate.
