But drivers of the race for me are Grosjean and Perez who drove sensibly while keeping their pace up to look after their tyres to one stop.

 I need to wait for my lap chart site to update but i am sure Gros was even catching Hamilton at the end too. When the guy stays out of early trouble he is really impressive.

I am a JB fan but his recent performances has been piss poor, there is really no excuse for his performances in comparison to his team mate and dropping back another place in the world drivers title race! If this continues throughout the season, I'd be tempted to retire if I were JB!

Agreed!

Jenson is my favorite driver but if he can't deliver for mclaren then there's no point driving for them.

I'm quite concerned about DRS, hell, I do not even understand why all F1 teams still agrees on having it, it only promotes fake overtakes and unfairness, and I'm not talking about only one lap, its effect is cumulative (while inside the 1 second) pretty much giving an unfair advantage to the guy behind the one to be passed. Also , while Pirelli tires made some good strides (lately) toward being something that anyone would look upon (high performance for long duration, hell, F1 as top of the "food chain" should set an example for ordinary automakers industry) ,it doesn't happen, we still see some "substandard" tires that sacrifice constant peak performance for a long period of time for constant peak performance for 2-3 laps (if properly warmed :) )
All in all, both Vettel and Alonso (with Vettel actually doing a second pit stop) had the same pit stop strategy as Grosjean and Perez, what the hell happened ?!

Good point...I was thinking the same. Seems that the lead teams have cars which are very quick and harder on the tyres, thus get that lead at the start which acts as a buffer but those guys (Lotus/Saubers/etc) finish very close in the end, sometimes ahead when tyre deg is higher than usual.

Oh, and it's a case as well of the top guys relating their performances/degs to each other instead of looking back over their shoulders and with the tyres today it can catch them out. Like it did with Ferrari big time.

Redbull though, quick thinkers as ever called Vettel in seeing a chance to get past Alonso. Really a very impressive (new!) team all round.

Strategy mishaps and two cars that are very nice to their tyres happened. :P

The difference between team fans and driver fans is so obvious in this thread

I have followed McLaren for 25 years and Lewis for 8.One of the many reason i always stick up for Lewis is because many people want to see him fail for no other reason than the way he looks,it's a fact.

If anyone is uncomfortable with that then stick them.

You're a mclaren fan and yet you're happy that a mclaren driver had a bad day?
That's kinda contradictory don't you think?
I understand the posters who are mainly hamilton fans but a team fan don't root against the other driver in his/her favorite team.

I can stand JB and he is letting the team down, but i can't lie and say i didn't enjoy him getting lapped.Seems you have got the hump because Lewis won and not Jenson, perhaps the same could be said for you.

I wonder how you were enjoying last year when your non starter driver was getting the best of Lewis with the help of the brittish JB groupie f1 media.Anyway, don't concern yourself with me,enjoy the Lewis win, after all you are a McLaren fan, right.

An important point but if he can't step up with one of the two fastest cars on the grid, he will have a diabolical time with any other team. Only choice is pull his socks up at McLaren...and he's proving he can't. I think last year beating Lewis on points (despite both being equal on wins) when Lewis was battling off the track personal issues got to Jenson's head. Now he know's what it's like to have a top tier driver as a team-mate and it must be unsettling to see how big a gap there is between the two. It's a glaring difference in car setup ability, qualifying and racing. I don't know what becomes of him now. Just hope he comes better in the second half of the season...if nothing else, just to finish up with something positive to go into the off season.

I'm just saying...

2 points away from having double the points of Button....this is what I expected from this partnership since the start. Ah well, better late than never. :D

Top drives from all the poduim finishes. And to see Hamilton win the race and Button finish all the way back there and getting lapped, does not look good for JB, If Button keeps going at this rate he could be the new Massa seeing that Massa is getting closer to Alonso now than he has been in the past.

I agree, plus we are never going to win the WCC with Button in the team.Jenson's problem was that he believed the brittish media hype and now it's come back to bite him in the bottom.Excuse after freaking excuse,it's actually cringe worthy listening to his constant dribble about no grip ffs,get a grid Jenson or you will have to go.

I think the pressure is going to get a lot worst,Lewis is turning the screw with every race,it's starting to get into his head, demons are starting to haunt him.
#306671
I'm mostly glad about Jenson's performance because it might wake McLaren up in considering to kick him out...never liked the fact that he's joining the team anyway, with the saddest WDC won in F1 history.

Great drive by lewis perez and groj, :cloud9:

JV ruining the after show though

Well, by the looks of things here, this just shows how fair Hamilton fans are...
To be honest, the only bad thing about Hamilton are his fans.

You could say the same about all the drivers.

Plus, quite hypocritical of you...I remember your comments about Webber last season when Vettel was trouncing him. You weren't exactly sympathetic for Mark at any point.
