I was thinking that an incident with damage is more interesting than one without damage.

My next guess is that it'll be because it was between the 2 biggest teams with the biggest fanbase so more viewers will be interested in a Ferrari v McLaren crash than a Mercedes v Red Bulll crash.

Nah try agen. Red Bull have just tied up the two champioships and schumacher is one of the most well known, successful and controversial drivers on the grid.
