Yeah flux F1 shoots itself in the foot, or is it someone else? Has Fernando had a season where his team has not been involved in a WMSC extraordinary meeting? :hehe: thats somewhat telling eh!

Yeah it tells you that FIA wants a brithish champion, hey but fernando in not brithish, bummer. F1 is no longer about racing and pilots, its about rules and regulation, and prohibitions.

Then why are you watching it? In hope that Mr2times can somehow defy the odds and become WDC? It's not going to happen, ever since the British boy called Lewis came into F1, your heros life has gone straight to Hell.

I advise you to switch to tennis where there is a REAL Spanish champion - Rafael Nadal. Especially as the WMSC is set to Disqualify Ferrari and Lord2Times out of their "win" and Hockenheim results, wouldn't want you to fall into depression now would we.

The lowdown:

http://en.espnf1.com/f1/motorsport/story/24493.html

Coulthard. Bernie. And frankly, anybody with an honest brain will agree.

I really dont see where people want to complicate things more than they should be. In any team sport, the moment any individual tries to be above the team's interests gets a seat in the bench.

The BS is about the spectacle... well, in baseball what everyone wants to do and see is to hit a grand slam home run to win the world series... if in a game a player has to hit a sac fly, a bunt, or an infield hit to win a game. he will do it, even if it hurts his individual numbers. A baseball fan will always cheer the sac fly as much as the home run if it wins the game.

Every team has team orders. Now stop the BS.

If the sport cannot be run without team orders, then it shouldn't be against the rules governing the sport to have team orders.

But given that there is currently a rule that bans them, that rule should be enforced and any infractions punished.

END OF.

gee if Massa is a 3rd rate driver what does it say about Alonso's skill? that he was beating Fernando until the team made him give up the lead... wow indeed!

that just sums your F1 knowledge. Thanks for making it so easy.

Massa and 2010 Schumi are the pilots to beat acording to bud. ok end of argument.

Disappointed in Bernie here. It's been mentioned several times in this thread already, but if F1 were truly a team sport, there wouldn't be a champion each year. That's quite...fundamental.

Bernie may want to see a more team-oriented F1 (though this belies the medal system he proposed), but he sure hasn't done much to promote or advance this. I would be interested in it, but overall I'm not sure it would be good for F1.

My personal opinion on the matter is that it was a poor decision by Ferrari. Not unspeakable, just shortsighted. Massa has been struggling for various reasons, and a win would have been a big up for him. You might even argue it would have brought Ferrari more points by the end of the season.

Honestly, I dunno why, but Ferrari car development has been lame the last 2 seasons (maybe others have just been better). This year it seems Red Bull and McLaren are in front; who knows when Massa will get another opportunity, to get his confidence back (which he probably hasn't had for about a year, and will be important throughout the remainder of his contract).

I still think Alonso is the best driver on the grid. I think Kimi was excellent last year, dude hardly made a mistake the whole season, and drove the car on the limit 99% of the time. Ferrari couldn't deliver last season, and they won't this season. j

Not getting dragged into the schumi argument but it has to be said Massa was doing a pretty damn good job at keeping his team mate behind him......if he's sooooo slow why did FA have to rely on his good nature to steal the win?

Alonso and Massa drive for Ferrari, thats their team. 1 WDC, 2 drivers in the same car, Ferrari took the decision to favour. It was made too early in my opinion, but thats what they did. Massa's goal is to now win the WCC with Alonso.

What?? This doesnt make sense.

Do you think Ferrari is trying to prove what is Alonso's skill??? what is Massa's skill?
They want to wind the championship. You decide who's a 3rd rate driver or not...

agree, but the rule has to be clear. just because massa lets alonso pass cant be all blamed on an interpretation of a team order. Unless the rule is that u cant let youe teamate pass u, all there is an interpretation of a message. I believe in the past teams have given a direct order, that is what is banned.

rules have to be over deeds, not interpretation or decoding of messages. Penalty, number 9 had the clear intention of kicking the oponent. Imagine that!! If you dont give a team order you should not have to be punished just because it looks like it. That is sports, taking the rules to the limits.

hehe. I hadn't read the posts that lead to Bud's statement... :)
Anyway... Bud's statement (as a stand alone) makes no sense.

if ferrari didnt order that massa let "toys out of the pram" alonso pass, then why was there a mass arguement which resulted in the ferrari pitwall refusing to talk to each other?
clearly used coded message, also massa reaction after the race said it all, till he realised his job and points for him and alonso was all on the line if he didnt play along to ferraris tune, the man needs to grow a set of balls and admit he didnt want to move over, and dont get me started on alonso, what a jerk he really is, he comes across as if hes still fed by his mums breast
