Hamilton clearly was not blocking, he was trying to break Petrov's draft.

Hillarious. Next time McLaren should mount some James Bond gadgets in his car... oil jets, machine guns, flame throwers... Hey!, just to break any overtaking attemp.

He only made one direction change in the braking zone, I believe that is legal as did martin Brundle.

Then I'm wonder why don't you see those techniques more often... I'm sure that in China's drivers briefing they are going to ask if they can make that manouver and the answer will be "no".

Even so, if it was a legal manouver, then, why the warning?

Thats a good point. maybe they should clarify the rules in the drivers briefing

 Well if ex racing drivers can't agree then what chance do us mere mortals have.

We'll have to send this question to "Top Gear"... but they are more Ferrari lovers than to BMW... Otherwise, mine looks more like an F1 than yours :) Touché again!

Must have been a horrific experience given that you're a McLarenite now

No it was ace. Ive always loved Ferrari road cars. :) The new McLaren looks pretty handy though

So drivers are also limited to how they can defend positions? Why don't they just turn each track into a huge Scalextric thing and that way no one will make any daring moves.

:irked:

Flame me all you want, but Formula 1 should learn a thing or two from NASCAR Racing. At least they're not policing every move a driver makes on the track!

hey if it was Alonso that did the move i bet we wouldnt even hear a peep from you.... infact if Alonso wasnt even in F1 many Spanish fans like yourself wouldnt have even been watching the race at Sepang... :sheep: yet youre an expert on racing moves now? :hehe:

I saw other moves during that race where 2 lines were chosen during the braking zone that is much more of a no no that what Hamilton did.... hey he was just warming his tyres like Jenson would do last season not his fault Petrov followed his every move

Lets look at this way. If Michael Schumacher had done it, I guarntee everyone would be yelling, sausage Dastardly is up to his old tricks.

You also can't claim that it's ok, because he only moved once in the braking zone. In fact your suspose to dart about at all in the braking zone.

Lewis wasn't "warming his tyres" Anyone who actually thinks that needs to get their head out of Lewis' arse. Difference is, Jenson never weaved when a car was directly behind him. The danger is that Petrov was in the slipstream and was gaining ground on Lewis, obviously when you get close enough you have to pull out of the slipstream and pull alongside the car your trying to overtake, otherwise you end up hitting the rear of the car in front. So what happens when the driver in front weaves on front of you as you trying to get alongside them.

Well something like what happened with Kobayashi and Nakajima at Brazil last year
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R84bOAPK ... re=related

You can see Kobayshi goes left, and goes back to try and cover the inside line, causing Nakajima to crash. If either Petrov or Hamilton had crashed because of that, it'd be a different story, and situation would be looked at a lot more.

Surely to god there is a difference to a deliberate blocking movement to prevent your follower overtaking to what Hammy was doing. He was trying to get Petrov out of his tow, Lewis moved over to the right, Petrov followed, to the left, Petrov followed and repeated it twice more, If Petrov wanted to overtake he should have made his move. Load of fuss about nothing

thing is maybe massa acomplished his finish the "easy" way but it was tactics and it was clever.
i like massa, he seems like a pretty genuine guy, and is still battling hard despite last year. my worry for him is if he gets outshined by alonso. but what i do think about him is that he will do well given half a chance.

Agreed, he is underated and will never be in the likes ok Alonso. But as all of you said the figures are there and get got them points. If the WDC was in hand he would of still won it so he still did good.

What the heck does that mean ??

If it was the last race and all he needed was to get 7th. Then Felipe would of got 7th and would of won the WDC. So you know as most of you say points are points.

Who freaking cares he came 6th and got a warning and that's the end of it. The Renault driver wasn't going to stay out in front and eventually pulled out of the race, some of you just like to hang on to any excuse to bash, well unlucky it's over and china is 9 days away. :banghead:

Personally, i think it adds a great bit of excitement and that's what is seriously lacking in F1 these days.
