So you guys are worried about next year because it's going to be Ferrari vs McLaren? Well recent years have been fantastic but this year is just awful. Button is going to win the title by cruising the second half of the season.

I think it's been a great season because for a change the same two teams haven't dominated.

My problem with this season is that one team did dominate at the beginning and that's what's determined the entire championship.

My problem with this season is that most of the races have been processional. :(

That too. :(

True, but it was a new team and they humbled the mighty Ferrari and McLaren which sort of makes it special. I wouldn't want Brawn to dominate next year ... I'm rather hoping for a Williams resurgence ... well any team apart from Ferrari

I know what you mean and at the beginning of the season I thought it was quite refreshing. But that domination at the beginning has made the second half of the season frustrating, it helped Button gain an advantage that's difficult for the rest of the drivers to claw back now that the cars are more evenly matched. I like competition and it doesn't really feel like much of one at the moment.

I agree, I am willing to accept a year of processional races, where it gets boring to me is when year after year it is the same as with the Schumacher years.

Well I think there are a few things that can be explained as to why we get boring races. I don't like to plug much but this article I wrote the other day could probably uncover some of the reasons why.

I would have been happy to see Brawn dominate the whole season. And I don't support them in any way, it would have just been mega impressive to see that level of dominance sustained throughout the season - and it would have been clear cut who was the best driver in their team.

The season, I would say, has suffered from being too unpredictable.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Not the most exciting race, but I'm happy with the result - both for Vettel and Trulli.
Button lucked into those points - at this rate he's going to luck into the championship (which is only thanks to a fantastic first half of the season).

ONLY due to a fantastic first half of the season ... is that not a bit of a contradiction and an understatement? He only managed to win 6 of the first 7 races, that couldn't all be due to luck. I am cheering Jenson on to the WDC crown, I'm not a Jenson fan or a Brawn fan, I'll support any UK driver or team (or any team that beats Ferrari  ) if he wins the driver's championship it will be thoroughly deserved. I hope he wraps it up at the next GP though as I'm not sure I can handle the stress of another last race championship decider.

I think you read too much into what I said :P
I never said Button doesn't deserve the WDC - he deserves it as much as any other contender, and if he has the most points at the end of the season, then he'll be a deserving champion, largely due to a fantastic first half of the season. All I meant was that he's scored some points in the second half of the season due to luck - either because of other drivers making mistakes / everything coming together so he's able to pull out some great laps when necessary (and yes - I know great laps need skill, but he also needs a clear road, his car working, the right balance, good tyres ETC, which is to some extent down to luck).

I think I'm going to start putting disclaimers on all my posts :hehe:

Why is it that heiki is always a lot heavier than captain invincable ?? mccheaters has been donig it the whole season i think.

Captain-Invincible seems to prefer 2 stop and HK likes longer stints also this way McLaren have both strategies covered this way.

thats what mclaren is saying. I think its their way of keeping the two apart on track.. and then they say heiki doesnt perform

Any time Kovalainen has been given the so-called better strategy, he's bungled it. I would give Kovalainen as few responsibilities as possible. The guy is a loser and is lucky to even still be at a team like McLaren.

In terms of the race, McLaren have performed a lot better than expected, though I think the Red Bull's race pace could be slightly better. However, Vettel has made some gaffes this season and with Brawn's ineptitude \and gutless attitide rearing their heads yet again, he could be a little conservative, especially going into the first corner. Toyota's perfomance is decent, though they probably based their car around this track, so desperate are they for some kind of performance. I expect Trulli to fade away over the race, both because of his own abilties and the limitations of his car. With the quanity of fuel Rosberg has on board, he could be a contender for a podium spot.

The absense of testing is really starting to show and I do believe heiki has a lot more potential than we seeing at the moment. many of the rookies as well is suffering under this same rules that forbids inseason testing. F1-live has a topic where hamilton seems to be afraid to have a better team mate. kimi wont allow them to shortchange him like mclaren is doing to heiki most of the time. what say you ??

Kovalainen's been at McLaren 2 seasons. Lack of testing isn't influencing his results.

Hamilton won't be afraid. It would take Ayrton Senna to be his team mate for Lewis to be afraid.

One of the commentators made a good point in qualifying yesterday, in that he benefits more from have Kovalainen talk openly about set ups and the likes. Kimi's not going to talk. Full stop.

For a start i don't think Hamilton:

1. Has a say in who he gets as his team mate
2. is scared of Kimi he beat Alonso as a rookie in the same car..

I don't understand why do you keep bring this up, Why would Mclaren screw Hekki over?

Hekki is an average F1 driver at best he was ok at the end of 2007 but has been completely average since.

He is a very fast one lap driver but over race distance he is not consistent enough.

At Monza 09 he set the fastest lap fuel corrected now if we were on 2010 rules Hekki would of had the Monza pole.

He was in arguably the fastest car that day with the prime strategy so in a way the lewis was on the back foot.

But he went backwards almost from the start, now he set the Q3 lap in PARC femme conditions meaning Mclaren could not change the car, so how did Mclaren loose that race for him?
