Super quali for Red Bull...shame for Webber not to snatch pole from Vettel.

On Vettel...he's becoming hugely annoying for some Red Bull fans, I myself love him, but I think he made a valid remark with something along the lines of "Red Bull need to choose a No.1 to try to attack the WDC before it's too late"...valid point, yet, putting all the eggs in one basket while Webber is only 3.5 points away from SV in the leaderboard makes no sense...Helmut Marko's blatant favouritism doesn't favour nicely amongst Red Bull fans. There's a split in the Red Bull paddock, and surprisingly, Horner is staying neutral and keeping it cool. Super Quali by Vettel though, pleasantly surprised by the 3/4 extra laps he has on Barrichello & Webber.

Vettel's remark is valid, but currently Webber is the obvious choice. Yes, he's been beaten by Vettel in qualifying at every (?) race, but look who's made the strategies work... :)

As for Vettel's fuel load, I am stunned. Really, I expected him to be very light indeed. I'll just have to hope that Rubens repeats his start from Spain and really pulls out a good gap to Vettel before he pits (and that Webber can jump Vettel at the start - remember, Vettel's starts haven't exactly been brilliant (though not terrible either) this year).

Porsche Supercup is on at the moment at Silverstone, and boy does it look cloudy. Rain is looking very likely.

I doubt we'll have heavy rain, but surely a few showers are likely.

You think? BBC is predicting sunny intervals - no rain.

^^^The clouds don't lie. They sure look threatening

I really want to see Vettel's onboard lap. I seen the last sector onboard, it was brilliant. That really was the pole lap of the year in my opinion.

Anyways, if its dry, Vettel should win. If its wet, Vettel will win. Heres to hoping for a good race.

Even without rain, the forecast isn't really favouring Button. Maximum predicted temperature is 19 Celsius.

My eyes are still firmly fixed on Nakajima and Rosberg. If the pair of them can get ahead of Trulli early on, I think we'll see a nice result for Williams. :)

Nakajima especially has to with his fuel load. Mind you, Trulli's race pace has been much improved this season - when Toyota haven't gaffed up the tyre choices!

Quote Mark Webber at post Quali press conference

"Yeah, as you say, it's been a good weekend for us so far. I would have liked a slightly cleaner run on my last Q3 lap. Kimi (Räikkönen) was, I don't know, drinking some vodka or dreaming or something… I don't know what the hell he was doing. He should have been on the right and he's on the racing line, dreaming, so that wrecked my rhythm into Stowe, I was very tight into there and so... Anyway, no-one's here to listen to a shopping list of excuses. I would have liked to get more out of the car on the last lap, it wasn't the case but we're still third. Congratulations to Seb, he did a good job. I think both of us are getting some good results out of the car now, so all the guys at Red Bull, all their hard work is now being realised. We're definitely in for a good result tomorrow if we can have a clean race."

I think it was too harsh comment from Mark. Especially this part with vodka and dreaming. But, I can understand him. He has a great car, Red Bull is fantastic this weekend, and he finished "only" third yesterday. It's pretty frustrating, but he should have chosen better words.

Its good for F1 that a driver says what he actually feels in the official press conference instead of the sterile constructed comments that have taken over F1 the last part of the decade! Besides thats the way it is in Australia, say it the way it is!

Kimi stuffed his lap up and he was pissed off about it. simple! no point putting on a front "oh jolly good lap that just a pitty about Kimi being in the way"

Interesting that the racing in the midfield is also pretty fierce, i guess it says a lot about the drivers like Alonso, Lewis, Heidfeld, Massa...

How do you mean? That they are still ultra-competitive?

Great race today. The Red Bull team have really improved their car, Button may actually face a title challenge from Vettel if he can repeat performances like that in the next few races.

And there was some good battles at the back between Alonso & Hamilton, always good to see. :D

I don't know what to make of Heikki Kovalainen's attempt to block Sebastian Bourdais...

It was a good race for championship battle. Button won just 3 points, and gap is decreased quite a lot.

Great stuff from Vettel and Red Bull. Webber was unable to catch Sebastian in the second part of the race.

Massa did great job. He started 11. and finished 4. It was a very good race for Felipe, his best result here.

Nakajima is the greatest looser today, but, i'm not surprised. I think Williams is better car than the results are.

So basically today, anyone who did a long first stint benefitted massively... shame Raikkonen got caught out by that after a brilliant start.

yeah Scotty i rekn he means they fight regardless! Lewis' move on Fern and especially Heidfeld was pretty gutsy!!

Yeah, Hamilton and Alonso racing was mint, both pushing each other hard and both making errors! Actually they stopped the race from being completely boring...! :hehe:
