The only Yabba Dabba Doo we'll hear from Vettel year is when he has to do like Fred Flintstone to push the RB10 off the track.

Can't c+p Merc's comments from the website, but the consensus is that they were testing their 'almost Melbourne spec' car today and ran into a few problems with this car which they seem quite secretive about. Lowe says they know what the problems are and can be dealt with by tomorrow.

Whilst opportunists looking to take a cheap shot might have a go at Merc on things like this, I actually believe these sorts of problems are good. It would be folly, even for the most die-hard one-eyed fan to believe a new car can be made and have zero glitches. Better the glitches are discovered now, when they can be fixed without effecting races and race results.
Lewis also dropped a great hint the other day when he said 'we are now trying to break the car'
So these niggles are actually another example of Merc doing everything they do better than the rest
Why would they want to miss what could be the best competition since Senna Prost in the same car? Lewis and Nico in the same car is gonna be so tasty that say you were Kobi and you retired on the 10th lap after getting lapped a few times, you would want to stick around and watch
AMuS reporting Renault asking for extension to deadlinehomologation to deadline

It's fair to say Renault's request for an extension to the engine homologation deadline has stirred up a bit of a hornet's nest. It's a very controversial thing to request, for two reasons - 1) these engine rules are effectively only in F1 because Renault wanted them and threatened to quit if they were not introduced; 2) the manufacturers have already had an extra year to develop the engines, after the initial date for the introduction of hybrid turbos was pushed back from 2013. Renault want an extra two months of development before specs are frozen, by the way. Contrary to what I wrote earlier, unanimity is needed for Renault's request to pass. Apologies for any confusion.

Still on the subject of Renault, Remi Taffin last night reckoned that simply putting on mileage wasn’t the be-all. In fact, he classed it as less important than other race preparations, such as getting the start procedure right.
“I’m pretty confident we can achieve it. If we were just going out and doing 60 laps of Melbourne then we’d be fine. But the thing we have to do is not 58 laps; it’s doing laps to the grid, starts and so on. It’s all the typical things you would go through a race and something you do not test normally during this kind of session, but it’s part of the race preparation. I think from tomorrow onwards we’ll be going that sort of preparation.
“We have to go through all these stages to make sure we’re not missing anything out and not arriving in Melbourne, trying to do a start…and everything is falling apart.”
